Economics Tutor Clear Island Waters, QLD
The most important thing an economics tutor can do for a student is to instil the key executive study skills that are used in the sessions that serve the student well and ensure they apply them all the time. These skills I hope to cement include organisation, focus and time management. I also believe it is important to form a connection with the…

Economics Tutor Gold Coast, QLD
I believe it is very important for an economics tutor to be able to identify students' unique learning styles and tailor every student's learning plan accordingly to their strengths and weaknesses. It is important to also identify what motivates and excites each student to learn and encourage active engagement in the tutoring sessions. As a tutor,…

Economics Tutor Robina, QLD
The most important aspect of tutoring is making learning enjoyable! I achieve this though understanding unique learning patterns and teaching specific effective study habits and processes which reduce the stresses and anxiety which are all too commonly associated with exams and assignment deadlines. Once developed, these skills are applicable well…

We were lucky enough to get Christopher to help my son with his math. He was exceptional! Explained everything in easy to understand terms and helped to make sense of the math problems. Thank you

Inside MerrimacTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 3 student Sophie practiced **addition and subtraction with worded problems**, worked on recognising key phrases in maths questions, and used real-life scenarios to understand money calculations.

In Year 10, Milly focused on **financial maths topics such as calculating interest and monthly losses** through practice exam questions, as well as applying budgeting skills and interpreting transport timetables.

For Year 11 Mathematics Methods, Jonah tackled **trigonometry fundamentals including the unit circle and exact values**, plus finding equations for tangents to sine or cosine graphs.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student repeatedly left their textbook or charged laptop at home, which meant they couldn't access essential examples during lessons—this delayed progress on advanced integration techniques.

For a Year 12 student, notes show that time management was an issue: "Needs to focus more on getting ideas to paper as soon as possible to save the last minute rush."

In Year 7 maths, messy working and missing decimal points in financial problems made it hard to track errors; one session ended with confusion over change because steps weren't shown clearly.

When exam practice began, incomplete homework left gaps in problem-solving routines.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Merrimac recently noticed a big shift for Cameron, a high school student who used to hesitate with worded maths problems—now he's reading questions carefully, working out what's needed before diving in, and even tackling five practice problems a day on his own.

Mikayla (Year 11) finally grasped how to find the equation of a tangent line to sine and cosine waves by breaking each step down, which was tricky for her before.

In Year 3, Sophie has gone from needing lots of hints to solving addition and subtraction questions independently, even talking through her solutions aloud.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Tommi is learning so much every week he is with ramzy and his grades at school in math class have improved dramatically. We have previously hired other maths tutors, but none other have helped like Ramzy has. Tommi has said that maths is now an enjoyable subject and looks forward to his tutoring when needed. 5 star rating and will be recommending to others.

We are very Happy with Pareise. Zoe looks forward to her lessons with her. Pareise is always on time and speaks o Zoe in a well-mannered and appropriate way.

Both Nicholas and Natasha are very happy with Mitchell and lessons are progressing beautifully.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Mudgeeraba Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like St Michael's College.
