I think it is important for tutors to be able to identify which areas students struggle with, then find a way to break it down and explain it to students so they fully understand. Tutors need to be patient and also be able to listen to what questions the students have, understand the problem and then explain the question to them slowly. Tutors…

The most important things as far as I'm considered, are to be readily approachable, and constantly supportive during the entire teaching process. In addition, having a good relationship with the students, being considerate about their holistic health, so that students can come to me for suggestions, not only academically, but also anything my past…

A tutor is different from a teacher/instructor at school. A tutor should know the strengths and weaknesses of a student in order to assist them accordingly. A tutor must be able to identify gaps in understanding in concepts and make sure to clarify the same in a patient manner. I believe I have the patience to teach and make sure the students have…

I believe that it is important for a tutor to provide a safe space for the student. They should feel comfortable in the environment they are being taught in as well as in the presence of the tutor. This will make for a conducive learning environment. The tutor should also be open to answering any questions the student might have. My patience is my…

Well-prepared lesson plan before tuition would be my priority and i would try my best to engage students in my lesson. In other words, I would make my lesson as less formal and create a friendly tuition environment rather than a formal classroom. In previous experiences in tutoring, i made my section as a friend-sharing section rather than…

Good tutors should be able to help students improve and not dependent on them, they should be able to help a student solve problems and not simply giving them answers. In addition, tutors also have to be patient as not all students have the same learning abilities. Lastly, I think a tutor should put in the effort to understand both the materials…

Learning is all about association. You cannot go to C without having to go through A and B. I think one of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to focus on the basics first and only if the basics are clear should the tutor proceed with the new concepts. Individual attention to each student and identifying their individual…

Be able to establish rapport and trust. Being a good listen as a mentor is very important. A tutor student relationship should be viewed as a partnership. A good tutor will be patient as well as a good listener. Addressing the students' queries, errors with honesty yet with empathy. Local Reviews

When we wanted some tailored math support for our daughter and contacted the Ezymath team, we were placed in contact with local tutors in less than 24 hours. The monthly reports can be quite comprehensive too -and the team is always ready to answer any follow up questions you may have. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Ezymath to anyone wishing to give their child a boost!

Inside Middle ParkTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 9 student Orlah worked through probability and statistics, including box-and-whisker plots and five-figure summaries.

For Year 10, Samuel reviewed trigonometry by combining bearings with SOHCAHTOA and practiced using sine and cosine rules for non-right triangles.

Meanwhile, Year 8 student Ava focused on solving and plotting linear equations as well as calculating gradients and y-intercepts from graphs.

Recent Challenges

A Year 9 student often forgot to bring essential materials, like their textbook, which meant lessons relied on makeshift resources.

In Year 11 Maths, a tutor noted: "He sometimes thinks he knows the material beforehand," leading to missed steps when new concepts were introduced.

One Year 7 student consistently wrote working in cramped spaces during long division; this caused errors that had to be retraced later.

For SAT preparation (Year 12), homework was left incomplete and feedback not acted upon, so gaps in rearranging equations persisted into practice sessions—leaving accuracy and confidence shaky under timed conditions.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Middle Park recently saw Monet, a Year 8 student, start tackling her homework without waiting for prompts—something she'd previously hesitated to do.

In Year 10, one student who used to rush through negative number problems took extra time this week and managed arithmetic with negatives much more accurately.

Another high schooler made a noticeable shift: after weeks of uncertainty with bearings and trigonometry, Saskia confidently combined bearings and SOHCAHTOA methods to calculate distances on her own for the first time.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Middle Park Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Middle Park Primary School.
