To be honest, an excellent tutor needs to be able to assist students in meeting deadlines. Delivering instruction that gives students the tools they need to be more independent in their studies is as vital, though. I would suggest to my pupils working on abilities in time management, critical thinking, and evaluation. I think that one of my skills…

If students have difficulties in learning, it is important to keep in contact and assist students to cope their stress. Effective tutors should have professional knowledge in the subject area that they teach, and they should keep studying and questioning since knowledge is boundless. The most important things a tutor can do are to build the student’s confidence, foster independent thinking, and create a supportive learning environment. Tutoring should go beyond helping with a single problem—it should give students the tools and mindset to approach future challenges on their own. Encouraging curiosity, showing empathy, and…

Motivating the student and teaching him according to his own pace is of upmost importance. Also, it is crucial that the student's marks are improving and he starts to develop a liking for that subject. I believe in the importance of developing a student's own independent thinking skills, so that they gather the confidence to correctly respond to any problem that an exam or test may pose individually as I, the tutor, will not be there to help in assessments. By doing this, the student can cement beneficial study habits and obtain their academic…

I believe striking a balance in how the tutor interacts with a student is key. Being able to listen and identify a student's problem areas, as well as being firm enough to hold their attention is vital. A good tutor can set expectations tailored to a student's abilities and with them raise them while boosting their confidence. Overall personality…

The most important things a tutor can do for a student are assisting them with their studies and provide comfort. Other than that, I believe the ability to comfort and reassure students is extremely important for tutors. I have met…

The most important thing a tutor can do for their student is relate to them. Everyone is different and learns in a different way. Hence, you must adjust your method of teaching for each individual student. Some people are auditory, visual or written learners, some like algebra, calculus, or trigonometry. Moreover, if you are understanding of your…

I believe that when the right tutor is paired with the right student, they can help the student to understand the pleasure of academic subjects. The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to clear the concepts. If a student knows the concept well then he/she can apply it to any problem pertaining to a particular topic. A tutor can do this by giving real world examples and discussing about the topic in general. Math is one of the most fun subjects to learn if one understands…

The first and foremost is being patient. Not everyone can learn and understand concepts at the same pace, so patience is very important. Trying different learning styles when the initial learning style doesn't work is another one, because people don't learn the same way. I'm very good at breaking down complex concepts into clear,…

Local Reviews

When we wanted some tailored math support for our daughter and contacted the Ezymath team, we were placed in contact with local tutors in less than 24 hours. The monthly reports can be quite comprehensive too -and the team is always ready to answer any follow up questions you may have. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Ezymath to anyone wishing to give their child a boost!

Inside Middle ParkTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 9 student Orlah worked through probability and statistics, including box-and-whisker plots and five-figure summaries.

For Year 10, Samuel reviewed trigonometry by combining bearings with SOHCAHTOA and practiced using sine and cosine rules for non-right triangles.

Meanwhile, Year 8 student Ava focused on solving and plotting linear equations as well as calculating gradients and y-intercepts from graphs.

Recent Challenges

A Year 9 student often forgot to bring essential materials, like their textbook, which meant lessons relied on makeshift resources.

In Year 11 Maths, a tutor noted: "He sometimes thinks he knows the material beforehand," leading to missed steps when new concepts were introduced.

One Year 7 student consistently wrote working in cramped spaces during long division; this caused errors that had to be retraced later.

For SAT preparation (Year 12), homework was left incomplete and feedback not acted upon, so gaps in rearranging equations persisted into practice sessions—leaving accuracy and confidence shaky under timed conditions.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Middle Park recently saw Monet, a Year 8 student, start tackling her homework without waiting for prompts—something she'd previously hesitated to do.

In Year 10, one student who used to rush through negative number problems took extra time this week and managed arithmetic with negatives much more accurately.

Another high schooler made a noticeable shift: after weeks of uncertainty with bearings and trigonometry, Saskia confidently combined bearings and SOHCAHTOA methods to calculate distances on her own for the first time.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Middle Park Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Middle Park Primary School.
