A tutor can be a guide for a student. I believe that a student can learn from the experience of a tutor and in this process, he doesn't tend to make mistakes that a tutor made in the past. Other than that, A tutor can motivate students to achieve not only academic but life goals as well. I try to relate every problem whether it is of maths or…

The most important things a tutor can do are to build confidence, provide clear explanations, and foster a positive learning experience. Tutors should encourage curiosity and critical thinking, while also helping students develop good study habits and problem-solving skills that last beyond tutoring sessions. I believe the most important things is to help students truly understand a concept instead of just memorizing it. In that way, students' academic performance can be improved and their confidence can be built up. Then, a solid foundation can be laid for further study and more career paths is available in the future. 1. I do understand the concepts…

The most important things as far as I'm considered, are to be readily approachable, and constantly supportive during the entire teaching process. In addition, having a good relationship with the students, being considerate about their holistic health, so that students can come to me for suggestions, not only academically, but also anything my past…

Priority is to solve their problems. HOWEVER, the most important thing is to intrigue them with knowledge. I know people can be intimidated by math, so did I; but all they need is someone to help them realize the magic math brings to life. Besides academic stuff, I am good with people. I'm totally the opposite of boring. I smile a lot. I've…

While it's crucial for a tutor to possess expert knowledge in their teaching subject, it's equally vital not to overwhelm students with pressure. I believe in fostering a supportive and positive environment during tutorial sessions. I aim to cheer them on in their endeavors and assist them in finding own sources of self-motivation to actually do…

Being adaptable and patient are the things I find to be the most important. I feel that people are their own worst critic and not being able to do something right away can really take a toll on a person. Being able to adjust my teaching technique, being calm, and being supportive while a student may be struggling is so important to the students…

From my perspective of view, the most important things I can teach a student are the interests in this subject and finding pleasure from it. I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is build the student’s confidence and help them believe in their ability to improve. Academic support is important, but equally vital is the emotional support that motivates a student to keep going even when they’re struggling. Being a tutor is more than assisting students' academic performance. Since tutoring is more personalized, the student-teacher bond can be more focused on. Behavioural issues can be minimized as well since the students received all the required attention in each session. It can also promote a sense of belonging for the students since the attention…

In my opinion, learning and getting good grades are two things that complement each other. Once students have a firm grasp of the knowledge points in the learning phase, then they will have enough confidence to cope with the exam. As a tutor, you need to help students absorb knowledge more easily at the stage of learning knowledge. For example,…

A tutor is different from a teacher/instructor at school. A tutor should know the strengths and weaknesses of a student in order to assist them accordingly. In my opinion, the role of a tutor goes beyond simply imparting knowledge. The most important things a tutor can do for a student are to inspire confidence, make them love learning, and equip them with the tools to thrive independently. The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to kindle in them a curiosity for the world around them and to guide them in looking for answers. I do not believe in the teach-to-test approach. Instead, I believe that teaching should not be compared to filling a bottle with water but rather to helping a flower grow in its own way. As…

Local Reviews

When we wanted some tailored math support for our daughter and contacted the Ezymath team, we were placed in contact with local tutors in less than 24 hours. The monthly reports can be quite comprehensive too -and the team is always ready to answer any follow up questions you may have. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Ezymath to anyone wishing to give their child a boost!

Inside Middle ParkTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 9 student Orlah worked through probability and statistics, including box-and-whisker plots and five-figure summaries.

For Year 10, Samuel reviewed trigonometry by combining bearings with SOHCAHTOA and practiced using sine and cosine rules for non-right triangles.

Meanwhile, Year 8 student Ava focused on solving and plotting linear equations as well as calculating gradients and y-intercepts from graphs.

Recent Challenges

A Year 9 student often forgot to bring essential materials, like their textbook, which meant lessons relied on makeshift resources.

In Year 11 Maths, a tutor noted: "He sometimes thinks he knows the material beforehand," leading to missed steps when new concepts were introduced.

One Year 7 student consistently wrote working in cramped spaces during long division; this caused errors that had to be retraced later.

For SAT preparation (Year 12), homework was left incomplete and feedback not acted upon, so gaps in rearranging equations persisted into practice sessions—leaving accuracy and confidence shaky under timed conditions.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Middle Park recently saw Monet, a Year 8 student, start tackling her homework without waiting for prompts—something she'd previously hesitated to do.

In Year 10, one student who used to rush through negative number problems took extra time this week and managed arithmetic with negatives much more accurately.

Another high schooler made a noticeable shift: after weeks of uncertainty with bearings and trigonometry, Saskia confidently combined bearings and SOHCAHTOA methods to calculate distances on her own for the first time.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Middle Park Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Middle Park Primary School.
