Engineering Studies Tutor Brabham, WA
A tutor can teach make study very interseting. A tutor is not just a teacher but is also a guide who can gudie th student in right direction. If a student knows and understands what is he studying, he can achieve excellent results and all this is the responsibility of the tutor. I have good knowledge of the subject. I tend to get along with…

Engineering Studies Tutor Morley, WA
In my view, the most important thing a tutor can do for their student is to instill confidence. I firmly believe that there are no "bad" students, only "bad" teachers who fail to understand their needs and provide appropriate support. As a tutor, I prioritize creating a supportive environment where students feel safe to ask questions, make…

Inside Middle SwanTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 11 student Charlotte focused on Human Biology, working through osmosis and cell transport concepts and reviewing strategies for effective ATAR study and note-taking.

In Year 12, Emily covered the stages of meiosis, including non-disjunction and crossing over, as well as exploring organic versus inorganic molecules and their relevance to cell membranes using targeted worksheets and diagrams.

Meanwhile, Year 9 student Ethan practiced rearranging equations in Physics (such as d = vt and Ek = ½mv²) and applied these to real-world problems involving kinetic energy and gravitational potential energy.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student did not bring or prepare notes for a test, relying heavily on tutor-supplied materials and struggling to answer questions without them—"he has lost a lot of the notes that I gave him to review for his test."

In Year 12 calculus, skipping steps when applying the chain rule led to persistent sign errors; as noted, "he forgot to multiply by the derivative of the nested function."

Meanwhile, in Year 7 English, one student's writing lacked clarity and structure due to not breaking down assignment instructions before starting.

Early primary lessons showed that avoiding written working in maths—often from fear of mistakes—made it harder to track errors and slowed progress during practice.

Recent Achievements

One Middle Swan tutor noticed a Year 11 student who previously hesitated to ask for help now confidently raises questions when confused, ensuring all issues are addressed before moving on—something he rarely did at the start of tutoring.

In another recent session, a high schooler preparing for an upcoming test began making her own cue cards after struggling to remember key concepts last term; she's now using them unprompted.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 student who used to guess during long division started slowing down and checking her work, leading her to complete several problems accurately by herself without needing reminders.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I have got to say that Miles is absolutely perfect. Besides being prompt and all that, his explanations are so good that Roland shares them with his school friends to enable them to understand tricky concepts in class. They inevitably will say “Oh, I understand now!” He is making Maths Methods manageable.

So far we are very happy with our classes I am sure as we progress jacob will start to see the improvements

Jillian is a wonderful, dedicated and reliable tutor A grade. Thank you Jillian

Local Spots for Tutoring
