Every student has the inherent ability to be successful but they may not have the right resources or knowledge to bring out that confidence within themselves. As a tutor, we are giving them resources and knowledges that helps them achieve the…

The most important thing would be clearing doubts for a student as I am also a student and I can understand how important it is when a student is confused and is not able to go about with their problems. Problem solving is the key to one's understanding and in addition to this, practice makes everyone perfect. I would be able to help the students…

A tutor can be good friends with the student first, learn about the students' hobbies, fear and problems relating to the subject matter and tailor a schedule that works best for that student. I mentioned all things above including practices either at home or at school. Both tutors and students have major obligation to reach a level of skills and ability to get communicating with each other to get the goal done, which is improving the student's brain in order to solve problems. Inside MolendinarTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 6 student Connor worked through unit conversions for length, volume, and mass, as well as measurement skills using practical examples.

For Year 9, Emily focused on analysing data by calculating mean, median, mode, and range, plus graphing histograms to visually interpret results.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Seb tackled linear equations—plotting graphs and finding gradients and y-intercepts—and also practised rearranging algebraic formulas to make x the subject.

Recent Challenges

In Year 8 algebra, a student avoided writing full working when rearranging equations—"minimal writting" led to confusion over steps, especially in worded problems.

A Year 10 learner didn't complete assigned textbook questions before an upcoming exam, which meant they missed feedback on significant errors in significant figures tasks.

In senior maths, forgetting to bring necessary materials caused late starts and lost learning time: "I waited 10min outside."

Meanwhile, a Year 7 student repeatedly practiced only familiar times tables (like 8×4), but shied away from trickier drills or new patterns, slowing their recall under pressure.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Molendinar noticed one Year 4 student, who used to get stuck on times tables, now recalling her 8s without prompts and explaining why order of operations matters—something she hesitated with before.

In a recent high school session, a Year 10 student independently identified gradients and y-intercepts when plotting linear functions; last term he needed step-by-step reminders for these.

Another high schooler showed new initiative by tackling the "improvement" section of her maths work herself, rather than waiting for hints, and finished all assigned calculations during the session.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Mobile Library Service—or at your child's school (with permission), like Trinity Lutheran College.
