I believe the most important thing a chemistry tutor can do for a student is to make them feel good about themselves. I feel it is essential that they do this through teaching so that the student feels happy when they start to understand and do stuff they were orginally having trouble over. I am a bright and bubbly person. I will never judge…

Firstly, I believe developing a strong relationship with a student is one of the most important things a student can do. This shows trust and allows students to give their full potential during sessions. Another important part of tutoring is to have a clear and well designed plan for the session ahead, which makes both the student and tutor have a…

A tutor should focus more on the foundation of the student and focus more on the basics of the subject. Also, corelating the subject with real-life examples could make learning easier and more interesting. I believe I have the right amount of patience required to tutor students. Also, I am open to interactive methods of tutoring and try to be…

teach understanding of a topic rather than how to do a problem so the student can tackle more difficult problems on there own without help. With understanding you can answer any question. Local Reviews

We are so happy with Dylan, he has really helped Brayden so much in the short time he has been coming to visit us and Brayden is certainly engaging well with him and as Dylan has stated in his report Brayden has been able to take what he has learnt from Dylan with him into his classroom and is now helping his friends which is great for his self confidence. Very happy overall.

Inside MontroseTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Erin worked on strategies for recalling times tables and ways to improve focus during maths activities.

In Year 10, Codi revised circular functions in preparation for an upcoming exam, practicing with a range of trigonometric problems.

For Year 11, Ayelet focused on simplifying surds and indices, concentrating especially on the correct application of index laws when multiplying and dividing terms.

Recent Challenges

A Year 4 student sometimes avoided writing working for subtraction and big-number problems, instead "adding and subtracting in her head," which made it harder to spot where steps were missed.

Homework was also left incomplete unless done with support; when solo, assignments like skip counting times tables weren't attempted at all.

In Year 10 English, a reluctance to trust her vocabulary led to overly wordy sentences—one tutor noted she struggled to "communicate fantastic ideas" clearly in essays.

For a senior maths student, over-reliance on formulas meant difficulty applying concepts to new questions without guidance.

Recent Achievements

A Montrose tutor recently saw Lizzie, a senior student, shift from simply following essay structures to confidently developing her own arguments and embedding quotes in ways that reflect genuine independent thought—she even brought new perspectives the tutor hadn't suggested before.

Meanwhile, Ayelet in Year 10 started explaining her reasoning aloud when applying index laws, a big change from earlier sessions where she'd quietly rely on prompts.

For a younger student, Maya now powers through division speed rounds—finishing ten questions in just 3.5 minutes this week after needing nearly three times as long at the start—and set herself a goal to beat that next session.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Thanks, we all love love love Kieran.  Just what both my kids needed.  Awesome tutor!

Louisa is very pleased with Stella. She is a very conscientious and capable tutor. Thank you!

Chemistry tutoring in Montrose

Year 11 and 12 Chemistry can be intimidating. Students need to learn heaps of content, be able to recognize reactions and analyse chemical systems. The number of concepts students need to master is overwhelming, and the workload only adds up as they move up the curriculum.

If your child doesn't hit the ground running, if they don't develop adequate study habits it's easy to get swept away by the sheer number of demands.

Chemistry Tutor Montrose

Tutors we work with know that. They've been there. Being approached by a mentor rather than a teacher makes it easier for students to develop an appreciation for chemistry. That's what it comes down to - someone making sure your child doesn't give up.

For some students it's just passing a test, for others it's getting through VCE with flying colours, maybe even preparing for a career in STEM. Whatever the goal, we are there to support your child through it all.

So what's the next step?

Give us a call and we will organise a chemistry tutor in Montrose to come to your home for one-on-one tutoring, at a time that works for you and your child.

We allocate local Montrose chemistry tutors so scheduling is never an issue. Changed your mind or need to postpone the lesson? No worries, there are no cancellation costs.

On top of that, the first lesson is a trial so if you don't like the tutor we'll find someone else who is better suited.

Have a question? We are happy to help.

Give us a call.
