I believe the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is create a safe learning environment to provide the student with the confidence to ask questions without the risk of feeling silly. As a tutor, I would love to share my passion for maths and science, inspiring students to pursue further knowledge and find enjoyment within the…

Inside MoriacTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Austin focused on multiplying and dividing by 10, 100, and 1000 as well as ordering decimal numbers between 0 and 1.

In Year 9, Krisztian tackled multiplying and dividing fractions along with converting simple to complex fractions, including some homework-based review.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Austin worked through a chapter check-up in biology using Edrolo and completed a detailed plan for a text response in English, practicing persuasive techniques relevant to his upcoming assessment.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11 English, a student struggled to start essays and often hesitated to write introductions, saying, "I get stuck at the beginning," which delayed progress during timed tasks.

In Year 10 Maths, confidence wavered after small errors—he'd doubt correct answers and erase working, instead of trusting his first instincts.

During a Year 6 fractions lesson, avoiding written working led to jumbled mental calculations and repeated confusion about numerators and denominators; as one tutor noted, "He tries to do it all in his head but gets lost." This resulted in frustration building before the end of sessions.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Moriac noticed a big shift with one Year 10 student who, after previously hesitating to ask questions, now independently completed all practice essay plans and questions in under ten minutes without seeking help.

Another high school student has started using process of elimination confidently during text analysis, making exam-style questions less stressful and showing he can back up his answers with relevant examples.

Meanwhile, a younger student surprised himself by finishing worded maths problems much faster than before—he'd usually second guess every step but this time worked through them on his own and got nearly every answer right.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Really happy with the tutoring and Stephen is great, really professional. My son is feeling a lot more positive about catching up so really happy.

You have hit the Jackpot!  Georgina is very happy with Stephen. Many thanks for all your efforts.

Gianna is a fantastic tutor who has definitely been able to help my son Bryce improve his understanding.  Bryce has jumped from a C in Maths to an A- which is proof of excellent work from both Gianna and my son.  Thank you.

Chemistry tutoring in Moriac

Chemistry can be confusing. Even if students pick it up in the beginning, the sheer amount of content and scope of principles can be overwhelming. It's no wonder most students need an extra push from time to time.

The best thing teachers can do if their students are struggling is approach their learning in a personalized way, really getting to know their habits and specific challenges they face. There's nothing like having that one person who knows your study habits inside out, especially when it comes to science. Unfortunately, in classrooms, that's not always possible.

Chemistry Tutor Moriac

Many parents find that tutoring helps bridge the gap, but locating a reliable chemistry tutor in Moriac isn't as easy as it sounds.

That's where we can help, that's what we do best.

You choose the time, what you want the tutor to work on and how often they should come. If you are not sure what your child needs, we will figure it out for you.

Once we have a chat we will match you with a local Moriac chemistry tutor and set up the first lesson.

And what if something doesn't seem right, you just don't like the first lesson? No worries, we won't charge you! Instead, we'll look for someone who's a better match.

As simple as that!

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Grovedale Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Moriac Primary School.
