Psychology Tutor Mount Keira, NSW
some of the most important things in a tutor is patience, understanding, and communication. without these three main skills tutoring would not work, and information would be lost in translation or children would feel too pressured to retain and information. I possess adequate knowledge to teacher science, maths, and ancient history as I did these…

Psychology Tutor North Wollongong, NSW
Make them believe in themselves is the first thing that pops into my mind. To get a student who once thought a subject was boring or complicated into something at least "okay" in which they can see their potential in if they put in the work. That, to me, is the most important thing. The greatest strength my students have commented on is my ability…

We are really happy with Sophia, she's a great role model and helped my daughter's confidence and understanding of maths improve.

Inside Mount KeiraTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Emily revised addition and subtraction of fractions using visual aids, and practised converting between fractions and decimals.

Year 9 student Olivia worked through trigonometric relations, focusing on solving for unknown sides and angles in right-angled triangles as well as simplifying expressions involving sin(x) and cos(x).

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Liam focused on factorisation of quadratics and completed take-home assessment preparation by breaking down worded problems into algebraic equations.

Recent Challenges

Inconsistent back-checking on worded maths problems led to repeated errors in simpler content for a Year 10 student; as the tutor noted, "back checking was inconsistent leading to a few mistakes."

A Year 8 English student's paragraphs were disorganised and relied heavily on familiar phrases, making arguments harder to follow and less convincing.

A Year 3 learner avoided showing workings for basic multiplication and time calculations, often getting stuck when asked to explain reasoning aloud.

A senior student hesitated to attempt unfamiliar coordinate geometry questions without support, slowing their progress through exam-style tasks.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Mount Keira noticed Remy, a high school student, now asks clarifying questions whenever he's unsure—whereas he previously hesitated and often pressed on without checking his understanding.

In English, Sebastien has shifted from repeating phrases in essays to purposefully editing for concise language after realising the impact of varied vocabulary; this was a big change from earlier drafts that were unfocused.

Meanwhile, Emily (Year 7) used to struggle with adding fractions but recently completed multi-fraction problems independently and even tackled algebraic expressions ahead of her class content.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Bethan, gets on really well with Sydney. Sydney is enjoying her lessons and she is already getting a better understanding of her maths.

Marcos seems great, Oliver is very happy. Difficult time with HSC on near horizon, so the assistance with exam prep and technique is helping immensely.

Hi Erica, Thank you for your email enquiring how Grace is settling in with Rose. In a word "great " they seem to have clicked straight away. Grace had a test following  the second tutoring session so she wanted to run a few things by Rose and the results of the test were fantastic. Not to take anything away from Feraz, as Grace's Maths had started to improve, but I think Grace is responding well to way Rose is explaining things and maybe because she is a girl too!

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Mobile Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Mount Keira Public School.
