Modern History Tutor Samford Valley, QLD
I believe that teaching students how to become a more independent learner is the most important thing that a tutor can do. As a tutor, it is important to help guide students through their work but not become a crutch that they rely too heavily upon. This way, students will be better equipped to handle the rest of their time at school. Helping…

Modern History Tutor Camp Mountain, QLD
I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is not just to teach them content - its essential to help a student become more self-sufficient in the field they are studying, and to teach them how to learn more effectively. For example, when teaching a child mathematics, I view simply teaching the content as not enough, as if you…

Inside Mount NeboTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Daniel worked on solving linear equations and practiced expanding brackets to simplify expressions.

In Year 9, Olivia focused on using Pythagoras' Theorem for right-angled triangles and applying trigonometry to find unknown side lengths.

Meanwhile, Year 6 student Zoe strengthened her understanding of finding the area and perimeter of shapes, along with reading and working with time using real-life word problems.

Recent Challenges

A Year 7 student hesitated to label axes correctly in data tasks, leading to confusion when placing frequency and variables ("putting frequency on the incorrect axis etc").

In Year 10, another often second-guessed herself while splitting complex shapes for area, slowing progress.

A senior student (Year 11) attempted bearings problems but relied heavily on notes rather than forming a method independently; "needed reminders each time to check which trig rule was appropriate."

Meanwhile, one primary student struggled with reading task instructions fully before starting—key information was missed, resulting in extra steps to revisit and clarify what was required.

Recent Achievements

One Mount Nebo tutor noticed a Year 10 student who used to freeze at worded algebra problems now confidently extracts the key info and sketches diagrams before choosing which equation to use.

A Year 8 student who previously guessed through probability questions has started listing all possible outcomes systematically, even double-checking their sample space for missed cases—something they avoided before.

In primary sessions, a Year 4 learner who often struggled with fractions surprised their tutor by not only splitting number lines into equal parts but also explaining how they found the highest common factor when simplifying.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

My son Ezra obtained an ATAR of 95.85 and was granted his first preference , Commerce and Mechatronics Engg. at Monash University. He obtained  a study score of 43 in Physics and 37 in Maths Methods. We are  grateful to your company for willing to send a suitable Maths and Physics tutor even after term 1, after we realised that that Ezra was having difficulty in Maths Methods. Your tutor was extremely patient , always on time and Ezra was able to discuss difficult concepts with him. We would definitely recommend your company to others.

Tutoring for EzyMath has been a rewarding and satisfying experience. It enabled me to develop my leadership and communication skills which are important ... The resources that EzyMath provided me with were excellent and made it easy when it came to selecting questions to work through. I have no hesitations in recommending EzyMath Tutoring to students who need some personalised help.

This is to let you know that I was happy with what Laura has learnt from the tutoring she received with Ezy Math.  Laura said she felt she had a better understanding of Math from those few lessons that she had.  The tutor was very thorough and we were grateful for his patience with Laura.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library or at your child's school (with permission), like Mount Nebo State School.
