Till 8th grade my mom was my tutor she taught me all the basics quite well from the start which still helps me in my university, that’s something a tutor can do that is clearing the basics which help students through their university years and beyond. As tutor a tutor my patience and adaptability is my biggest strength. I can explain the student…

The most important thing a tutor could do for a student would be showing them the tools and steps they need/ can use in the future when they are having difficulties understanding certain subject or concepts. My biggest strength would have to be my communication skills. Wether it's verbal, visual, speaking, or hands-on, I'm able to effectively…

Generally, students that seek the help of a tutor are struggling with the approach of their teacher to explaining a certain subject. This creates a cycle of feeling overwhelmed and avoiding the subject. I think that the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is help them out of a never ending and unproductive cycle and introduce them…

Really benefitting the student, not just by teaching them the content in the school subjects but also by teaching them about how to operate and be successful in general. For example teaching things like work ethic, scheduling, time management, how to learn efficiently, how to stay calm under pressure and stress management. I believe there is a lot…

Lara has been a wonderful help for my son with Grade 9 Mathematics and Science. He was initially reluctant to try tutoring but Lara quickly made him feel comfortable and he is reporting that the tutoring is improving his confidence. I would certainly recommend Lara.

Inside MudgeerabaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Ben practised solving problems with similar triangles and circle geometry, focusing on identifying key properties in diagrams.

For Year 10, Ava tackled financial maths by calculating simple and compound interest as well as applying percentages to real-world pay scenarios.

In senior high school, Jack (Year 12) worked through integration techniques—covering definite integrals involving logarithmic and trigonometric functions—and also used the Trapezoid Rule for numerical area estimation.

Recent Challenges

Organization and process issues sometimes slowed progress, especially in Years 10–12.

For example, one Year 11 student arrived without class notes for several sessions, meaning "I did it more using my procedures than his class procedures," which caused confusion when approaches differed.

In another Year 10 lesson, forgetting to practice factorising meant extra time was spent re-learning old ground before advancing to completing the square.

A senior Physics session saw an assignment's analysis phase missed due to looming deadlines—there was "no chance of dealing with that aspect before it is due." This left less opportunity for targeted feedback and deeper skill-building.

Recent Achievements

One Mudgeeraba tutor noticed that Ethan, a Year 12 student, initially hesitated with external exam-style physics questions but became much more methodical and accurate after breaking down the steps—he now confidently tackles these challenging problems on his own.

Meanwhile, Lily in Year 10 was quite unsure about matrix operations at first; by the end of her session she completed practical matrix problems like 2A – B without prompting and understood notation that had previously confused her.

For a younger student, Gwilyn (Year 6) moved from rushing through probability exercises to carefully drawing diagrams and double-checking answers before moving on.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Deepti has been tutoring my daughter for 1 year now. I am so happy with the difference it has made to my daughters understanding of a subject that she was very behind in and I was very concerned.

Shruti helped me so much in my yr 12 studies as a school friend. She is extremely intelligent and has a lot of patience. Shruti gave me the skills and confidence in my learning and allowed me to succeed in yr 12. Shruti is like a big sister to me, I highly recommend everyone to choose her as a tutor.

Everything is going very well, thank you very much, we are very happy with the tutoring Harshdeep is providing to Manon, he is very thorough.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Mudgeeraba Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Mudgeeraba State School.
