I believe it is important to understand student's current situation towards studying. Knowing student will be the best guide towards planning classes for them. Over course of time, I will be able to suit student's style in their studying: thus providing best resource towards their learning. Another important aspect of tutoring is being respectful…

I believe a tutor is not sole to enhance the academic excellence of a student, but to help the student to develop personal skills in their character and morals as well. In my opinion, a teacher is the bridge between a child and their growth to become an adult. The personal character traits, morals and ethics they learn from school and teachers…

Tutors can be a reason to guide the students in the right direction. Sometimes, a student might need a tiny little nudge to get them on track and tutors can be or are the right persons for that. A tutor can be a friend guiding the student in every obstacle they come across. A tutor can also be a role model for the students by creating a long…

I believe most important thing a tutor can do for a student is provide a safe and encouraging space where the student feels free to voice any of their concerns or to ask questions. In addition to this a tutor should be commited to understanding the learning style of their student and the ways in which they respond to different teaching methods in…

To allow the student to learn by guiding them there. This way, I believe students are able to improve even after you’ve stopped tutoring them. In short, I believe the most important thing a tutor can do for a student would be for tutors to ensure that students are confident in how they approach a problem. My strengths as a tutor, I would say,…

I believe that when the right tutor is paired with the right student, they can help the student to understand the pleasure of academic subjects. A tutor's responsibility, in my opinion, should be to identify why the student may be struggling in that specific area of academics and then to adjust their teaching approach and technique to cater for…

Encouragement and patience. Through personal experience, even if the student improve their score by 1% from their last test, this is enough of an encouragement for them to push harder and let them know you will be their for them anytime when they are stuck or needing help. Being a friend! Most students whom I’ve thought have confessed they gained more knowledge from me as they considered me to be more than a teacher as I had a great understanding from their point of view and tried to do more in class and reduce workload at home to balance their lives and education. In the meantime I’ve managed the time and…

Local Reviews

Thanks very much and particularly to Maya. She is a really good tutor and a great influence on Chloe.
Melissa, Carnegie

Inside MurrumbeenaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Lily focused on simplifying fractions and practising multiplication facts up to 10, using visual aids for support.

Year 7 student Ava tackled linear equations and explored plotting points on the Cartesian plane, including drawing straight-line graphs by hand.

Meanwhile, Year 9 student Ethan worked through trigonometry concepts such as bearings and distances, as well as calculating surface area and volume of composite shapes.

Recent Challenges

A Year 4 student left their homework incomplete and was "easily distracted," often rushing through fractions and worded problems without full confidence, as one tutor observed.

In a Year 8 algebra session, skipping steps when solving equations led to small errors—practicing showing all working became necessary for test preparation.

Meanwhile, a Year 11 student relied on back-checking answers but occasionally misapplied formulas before correcting themselves.

The struggle to commit times tables to memory persisted in Year 5; repeated revision was needed as material was quickly forgotten, leading to frequent revisiting of the same multiplication concepts week after week.

Recent Achievements

One Murrumbeena tutor noticed a big shift with a Year 10 student who previously hesitated to tackle statistics problems alone—she completed her entire homework set without needing prompts.

In Year 12, another student who used to second-guess herself with complex loan calculations is now confidently comparing interest rates and can choose the most cost-effective loan on her own.

Meanwhile, a younger student who struggled to show his maths working has started organising each step clearly in his book instead of skipping ahead, finishing all ten practice questions accurately for the first time.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I came to work with Ezymath because it looked like a reputable company and I was interested in tutoring maths. I feel overall like my time with my students has been a great improvement in their learning ability and my teaching ability. Ezymath was good to work with and also accommodating, I would recommend Ezymath to both other tutors and prospective clients.

Darren is very patient and kindly spoken and Julia is really enjoying her tutoring experience with him.

Melissa was wonderful & we look forward to seeing her again in a fortnight. She was so patient, encouraging, gentle & knowledgeable. Grace felt so special & clever afterwards she can't want to see her again.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Carnegie Library and Community Centre—or at your child's school (with permission), like Murrumbeena Primary School.
