One of the most important things a chemistry tutor can do is to inspire students through education. The world of education is so vast and enriching, both primary and secondary school is a long journey and for my students to enjoy education rather than drag their feet through the process is one of my biggest hopes and goals. There are endless…

One of the most important things in tutoring is to understand the way the student thinks, and the ways they learn most efficiently, through which the way of teaching can then by oriented or altered to suit the learner to learn most effectively. I can explain complex ideas in the most simple ways for students to understand, I always also create…

The most important thing a tutor can do is to make their students curious about the subject they are studying and help them retain the knowledge they had learnt I think my strengths are that I have a lot of knowledge in subjects that some students have trouble in and I can further expand that knowledge so that each student gets to understand it…

Inside Nar Nar Goon NorthTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 6 student Mehar worked on measuring and classifying angles using a protractor, as well as adding and simplifying fractions in calculations.

In Year 11, Gavin focused on solving linear equations and quadratic functions—including domain and range questions—alongside applying kinematics from physics to real problems.

Meanwhile, Alexander (Year 12) prepared for his physics exam by revising kinematics, constant acceleration motion, forces on inclined planes, and energy transfer during collisions.

Recent Challenges

Several students across both primary and secondary levels faced challenges with process habits that affected their learning.

In Year 8, one student did not complete homework given last class and arrived disorganised, lacking personal notes on area formulas—relying solely on teacher handouts made it harder to revise independently.

A Year 11 student in Methods struggled to connect the meaning behind equations with when and how to use them; as noted, "he used the wrong numbers in formulas even though he knew what each term meant," leading to errors in energy transfer problems.

During a senior lesson, internet connection issues caused lost focus and disrupted momentum just as new anti-differentiation content was introduced, making it difficult for the student to consolidate key steps before moving forward.

Recent Achievements

One Nar Nar Goon North tutor noticed real progress with Gavin, a senior student who previously struggled to spot patterns in integration but recently recognised these while working through both definite and indefinite integrals.

In a recent session, Alex showed he could independently select the right equations for constant acceleration scenarios, having previously relied on hints from his tutor.

Meanwhile, Mehar (Year 7) had been hesitant to speak up when confused; last week, she began clearly explaining what she didn't understand during lessons—an important shift that helped her work out the difference between adding decimals and whole numbers on her own.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

El Abed has been a brilliant tutor & I am impressed he managed to work so well with Faith when others have been unable to kept her focused. I wanted to highly recommend Abed as a tutor, I am disappointed my daughter is not interested Maths to improve further.

I would like to send a sincere thank you to your team for choosing Stefanie Palin into our home. My son, at first, was not keen to have a tutor. However, upon meeting Stefanie from the very first meeting he became keen to learn! Jared`s current maths school teacher has not been able to explain elements of trigonometry. However, after Stefanie showed him techniques he understood within minutes (I overheard Jared saying this). I have found Stefanie to be punctual, professional and very eager to help Jared learn and a lovely lady. If I hear of anyone needing a tutor I will not hesitate to inform them of your company.

Julian has improved since Armanat has come along. It's good to hear that Julian is progressing and where he needs to improve. I encourage him to do revision every week. Julian and I appreciate Amanats tutoring and his feed back, it's most helpful as is this report.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Cardinia Mobile Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like St James School.
