The most important thing a tutor can do for their student is to accommodate their learning style. Students have ranging techniques and motivations when learning content. Personally, I struggled with auditory learning as a student, and would therefore ask my teachers to give me a range of tactile learning techniques to assist in my learning. I…

The most important thing a tutor can do for their student is ensure that the student has gained the ability to consolidate the information taught. The student must be able to reproduce the content learned in their own words at their own time. Specifically for English, many students have wonderful, original ideas in their minds, however, they…

The most important things I can do for a student, is to put myself in their shoes when teaching. Often some students take longer to understand, comprehend or apply the knowledge taught. It' so important to go at their pace, whilst challenging them as well, because there's nothing we can't achieve if we set our minds to it. It' important to simply…

I consider the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to ultimately inspire them in a love of learning and hopefully pass onto them capsules of knowledge which are priceless. My strengths as a tutor are to challenge the pupils to think abstractly about language and harness the true power it possesses. I love hearing the pupil's own…

This means by making the students understand and gain knowledge easily which will help them for the long run. Instill confidence in the student about their own ability to learn and achieve their academic goals. The tutor should tailor their approach to the needs of each student. - Not everyone learns the same way and the tutor should be prepared to be creative in the ways he or she teaches core concepts or content. Offer something unique! - Rather…

My understanding of a tutors role is not to do the students work, yet to uncover their natural ability so that they may proceed to increase their academic results. Therefore, the most important thing a tutor can do is not only provide advice but draw out the best of people. I have been told I am a 'people person', I previously worked in a busy…

I highly recommend Ezy Math Tutoring. Initially it took some time finding the right tutor for my daughter but the communication was always very open and prompt. I was given constant up dates on the progress which was great. My daughter clicked very well with her tutor and felt comfortable with her from day 1. I was expecting quite a few lessons in order for her to feel comfortable but it didn't take long at all. Chloe does a lot of preparation in her own time too and has given my daughter valuable tips on referencing and exam prep. I'm very happy with Chloe and more importantly my daughter is.

Inside NewtonTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 6 Ava practiced calculating percentage increases and decreases, as well as finding percentages of amounts in real-world scenarios.

Year 10 Doyle focused on factorising quadratics using techniques like splitting the middle term, and also worked through solving simultaneous equations by isolating variables and substituting between equations.

Meanwhile, Year 11 Brea completed catch-up work on derivatives, concentrating on foundational differentiation rules to strengthen her understanding after missing recent school lessons.

Recent Challenges

Several students across both primary and high school levels frequently left homework incomplete or unfinished—this was especially evident in Years 3–6 mathematics, where repeated reminders ("Kalani should remember to do her homework") signaled a pattern.

In Year 11 Mathematics, a student had difficulty with time management while solving problems, which led to unfinished test questions and reduced accuracy under pressure.

For one senior Chemistry learner, missing notes during multi-step stoichiometry tasks meant calculation errors persisted across lessons.

A Year 7 student's disorganized written work during simultaneous equations made it harder to identify where mistakes occurred, slowing their progress and deepening frustration mid-task.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Newton noticed that a Year 10 student who used to rush through equations is now double-checking his work and catching small calculation errors on his own during lessons about simultaneous equations and factorisation.

In a recent senior maths session, another student showed real growth by solving several logarithmic equations accurately after initially struggling with converting between different forms.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 student who once hesitated to tackle larger multiplication problems completed multi-digit calculations without prompting and even used multiplication to check her division answers for the first time.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

El-Abed is doing s great job. El-Abed has managed to get my daughter, Faith, to agree to a 90min session weekly which should work well as she has some work to do.

Sophie is already getting alot out of her tutoring. Jessica is fantastic and has quickly got to know what Sophie needs. We will definately be staying.

Michael came yesterday & is quite a competent & friendly boy whom Zoe worked quite well with.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Campbelltown Public Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Thorndon Park Primary School.
