The most important thing that I can do is to allow the student to learn with fun and without any stress. This can be done with a broad explanation on topics and giving examples from our day to day activities. Consequently, a student will able to catch up all the difficult theories easily. I have a good understanding about the math related subjects…

I think that the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to help them completely understand the material. Not only so that they can do a specific question, the important thing is for them to understand the concept, so when they encountered different kind of question, they would know how to approach it. Furthermore, a tutor must adjust…

Above all else, I think a tutor can give a student confidence in whatever work students have due. Once their confidence is built up, they will respond better to not just tutoring outside, but also teaching in the classroom and result to a deeper understanding of the content. I think I am well versed in most subjects, and am an excellent…

Each student learns in a unique way and at a different pace and thus a good tutor must understand this and personalise their learning. Alongside this, the tutor must focus on building the student's confidence and teaching to their strengths before wandering into waters unfamiliar to the student. I believe that teaching to the student's needs and…

I firmly believe that making student's confident about the subject is the most important thing. A tutor is someone who guides the student to the solution also letting the student explore the new entities. It is not like providing the question and the answer at the same time. A tutor must be able to win the heart of the student so the student loves…

A tutor must understand a student first. I also think making a lively session and lightening up the session helps release stress and increase the grasping power of students. I believe, in today's world, the tutors role is changing quickly. With tons of free education material available online, a tutor must provide personal touch for students and improve their learning rate. A tutors job is to make his/her students grasp that knowledge without having to go through the grind of looking for good material. A tutor must…

Inside Noble ParkTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Jay tackled simultaneous equations and practiced pattern recognition by working through John Monash practice questions.

For Year 9, Lisa focused on simple interest calculations and solving more advanced simultaneous equations, using both textbook problems and applied examples.

Meanwhile, Year 4 student Noah worked on multiplication concepts—specifically two-digit by one-digit multiplication—and explored division as forming equal groups with visual aids.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11 mathematics, not bringing the correct equipment and materials—despite reminders—meant lesson time was lost reorganizing instead of problem-solving. As a tutor observed, "he needs to be more diligent in keeping notes and having his materials ready for tutoring."

For a Year 9 student, an over-reliance on technology led to skipping written working in algebra; missing steps caused confusion when checking answers.

In primary (Year 3), incomplete homework limited consolidation of times tables and multiplication skills, leaving basic errors uncorrected.

After setbacks in essay writing (Year 10 English), frustration quickly set in, making it harder to recover confidence mid-task.

Recent Achievements

One Noble Park tutor noticed that a Year 9 student, Seth, who previously hesitated to ask questions when confused, has started actively seeking clarification during sessions and now explains his logic before hearing the answer—showing real independence.

In Year 10 English, Mitchell shifted from being unsure about how to start argument analyses to confidently drafting introductions on his own and identifying authors' main arguments without prompting.

Meanwhile, in Year 3 maths, Florian—who used to be quiet and unfocused—now talks through problem-solving steps out loud and checks his work independently after adopting new strategies with the whiteboard.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I am very happy with Erin's progress, Cassie has been a great help and she communicates with Erin well , which has seen Erin progressing to a higher grade.

We could not be happier with MinJae as Adam's tutor!! Adam fist pumped the air after MinJae left last week (second session) and informed me he "absolutely loved" the session. He suits Adam perfectly and I often hear them laughing during the sessions. Adam was very comfortable with MinJae from the first session and we are truly grateful to have found him; he is polite, patient and generous with his time, not to mention extremely good at explaining mathematical processes. As a result Adam's understanding of maths has grown exponentially.

Priya has made a very positive start with her tutoring with Abdullah. He is very good at explaining concepts and seemed to understand Priya's needs very quickly. We are very happy with Abdullah.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Dingley Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Noble Park Primary School.
