Biology Tutor Gosford, NSW
Be present and engaged in each lesson and ensure they thoroughly understand each topic before moving on. I would say my main strengths are patience and communication. When it comes to breaking down questions, it helps to work through things slowly and ensure understanding at each…

Local Reviews

The tutoring has been a great success and has helped Ruby gain more confidence with her maths. We only have very positive feedback for EzyMath and Ruby's tutors, and anticipate we will pick up the tutoring again in the future as Ruby progressing through primary and high school.

Inside North GosfordTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 6 student Yillen worked on calculating perimeter and area, then moved into finding the volume and surface area of different shapes, using diagrams to help visualise each step.

For Year 9, Chloe focused on revising formulae for speed, distance, and time as well as tackling challenging algebraic equations from her homework.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Rory reviewed trigonometry concepts (using SOHCAHTOA), compound interest calculations, and ratio problems by breaking down tricky past test questions together.

Recent Challenges

A Year 9 student found it challenging to stay focused during online sessions, arriving late and needing frequent prompting—"I had to almost give him 80% of the answers this lesson to try to keep him engaged enough to try." This lack of engagement meant fewer opportunities for independent problem-solving.

In Year 11, a student repeatedly forgot their calculator, which slowed progress in topics like Pi and rearranging formulas.

Meanwhile, a Year 7 learner often skipped showing working for basic operations and left homework incomplete; reluctance led to slow lesson pacing and unfinished probability tasks. Messy graphing further muddled understanding, leaving mistakes unchecked.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in North Gosford noticed that one high school student, after initially struggling with algebraic fractions, now independently works through complex questions and explains her reasoning without prompting.

Another high schooler who used to wait for help now takes the initiative to ask for more challenging homework and openly requests clarification on tricky concepts—something he hesitated to do before.

In a primary session, Lilly became much quicker at adding and subtracting decimals within just one lesson, moving from frequent pauses to completing most problems unaided by the end of the hour.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Very happy - Su is a very good tutor and we're very happy with the tutoring thus far.

We're very happy with Kritika. Ella has taken to her easily and is really enjoying the work. I'm feeling very optimistic.

After the last session Mia said she was happy with Sam and didn't want to change to anyone else. Sam is very bright and Mia will never be an advanced Maths student but they seem to have worked out how to communicate and that just builds her confidence so she doesn't see a difficult question and get overwhelmed. Sam is also very punctual and communicates well with us as well. Even the dog likes him now.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Erina Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Primary School.
