A tutor should not only help students understand the subject matter but also build their confidence and independent learning skills. It’s important to listen carefully, identify where they’re struggling, and provide guidance that helps them think critically and solve problems on their own. Ultimately, a tutor’s role is to empower students to…

For me an initiative learning is most important. Tutor can give room to the student for intuition and develop an effective teaching pattern based on the view the student have. In my opinion this is effective because student can engage themselves in more interesting manner. My strength would be, I make sure that the student understand the topic in…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to ensure that the student is comfortable with the concepts they learn, answer their questions and help the student understand their studies. My experience as a successful recent HSC student is a major strength as a tutor. As someone who was in students' shoes not so long ago, I can connect…

In my opinion it's crucial to have great communication skills and bond with your students in order to get them to engage as much possible as well as being able to address a problem with multiple approaches to ensure students' deep understanding on the subject. I consider myself a patient person who's happy to go through the same subject multiple…

Aside from improving academic performance and laying strong fundamental foundations, I believe boosting student confidence is vital- as it can change the entire attitude/mindset of a student. Moreover, this can be strengthened by supporting students in their efforts- both successes and failures as they develop their academic skills. I pride myself…

Inside North KellyvilleTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Kush practised multiplication facts for 0, 1, and 2 times tables alongside addition and subtraction with two- and three-digit numbers, also working on spelling and sentence writing through dictation exercises.

Year 9 student Nelly focused on simplifying algebraic expressions using index laws and negative coefficients, as well as calculating the surface area of cylinders and cones by applying geometric formulas.

For Year 12, Bertina tackled advanced probability density function questions from past trial papers and reviewed mathematical induction problems to prepare for her HSC exams.

Recent Challenges

A Year 11 student frequently skipped steps when graphing modified functions and tackling "prove" questions—"he got to conclusions too quickly, skipping needed steps," as one tutor noted. This habit left small errors hidden until the end, making revision inefficient.

In Year 9 algebra lessons, incomplete homework meant the basics weren't consolidated between sessions; this showed in class when a question's method was forgotten mid-way.

A primary student hesitated to attempt double-digit addition independently, often guessing or looking for confirmation rather than working through mistakes—during dictation tasks, he covered his work to check spelling instead of writing confidently.

Recent Achievements

One North Kellyville tutor noticed a Year 11 student who previously hesitated to ask for help now openly voices her questions about negative angles, which has helped her clear up confusion faster.

Another high schooler made a noticeable shift by independently working through past trial papers and managing to complete more of the difficult calculus and sequences questions without prompting—a big change from relying on hints last term.

In primary, Kush used to pause or check for approval before answering addition problems but is now tackling mixed operation worded maths questions on his own and confidently explaining how he reached each answer.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Things are going very well at the moment. Much of the use Max is getting out of it is that there is time to ask questions and have detailed explanation of concepts. This is what he felt he was denied in class and was causing some degree of anxiety on his part. Brigit appears to be a good tutor for him as it is always important that he likes the person he is dealing with especially when it is in a subject area which isn't the main focus of his primary interest or ability.

After spending two years as a tutor with Ezy Math Tutoring I can only report positive experiences with the agency. Ezy Math was always professional, timely and willing to help with any queries or problems. Working with such a personalized and helpful company only enriched the already fulfilling experience of being a tutor. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Ezy Math Tutoring to any prospective tutors or students.

I am very happy with Fiona, and though we are only in the early stages of tutoring, Alyssa has made significant improvements in her attitude and confidence. Initially she was dreading tutoring, now she has embraced it. Fiona has been extremely flexible and has impressed with her professionalism and knowledge from day one. We look forward to continued success under her tuition.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Vinegar Hill Memorial Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like North Kellyville Public School.
