Science Tutor Trinity Park, QLD
Tutoring is essentially an aid for student's learning in schools. The most important thing that a tutor can do is to ignite students' passion for learning. This can be acheived through helping them with questions and concepts that they find confusing, guiding them to develop their own problem solving strategies and most importantly growing their…

Local Reviews

We are finding Eloise great. She is very good with Penny and has really listened to where Penny needs help with most and has prepared for her lessons well. We plan on keeping up tutoring as I think it’s making a big difference with Penny’s confidence at school. She has gone from below the expected level in term 1 report to at the the expected level for her end of year report.

Inside Palm CoveTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Layla worked on converting between analogue and digital time as well as practising subtraction with decimals.

In Year 8, Sophia tackled index laws using practice questions and also revised simplifying fractions and identifying recurring or terminating decimals.

For Year 10, Will focused on solving simultaneous equations through substitution and elimination methods, alongside reviewing how to calculate surface area for composite shapes.

Recent Challenges

Lost previous homework sheet so had to spend lesson going through it again, which led to less time for new learning.

Needs improvement when it comes to explaining why the answer is what it is.

A Year 4 learner did not complete assigned homework several times in a row and made repeated sign errors in algebra; this resulted in spending part of each session fixing old mistakes instead of progressing with new content.

Recent Achievements

One Palm Cove tutor noticed a big shift with a Year 10 student who, after weeks of needing prompts, tackled complex textbook questions independently and even applied feedback to improve her assignment without extra guidance.

In another high school session, a student came prepared for test revision—something she'd avoided before—and took the initiative to ask targeted questions about topics she found challenging.

Meanwhile, in primary maths, one younger learner who used to lose focus was able to complete every subtraction question in the lesson with only occasional help and stayed engaged throughout.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I would recommend  working with Ezy Math for any prospective tutor. The work is very satisfying. Maths can be a difficult subject for anybody, and when you can show someone an easier, systematic way to solve one of their problems the students really appreciate the help.

I came to work with Ezymaths because I knew I would get a wide range of students to tutor, which would undoubtedly improve my tutoring skill as well as communications skills (dealing with students and parents). The biggest accomplishment would be when my student's mark improved significantly and she moved up to the upper maths class in the next semester. I felt very proud of my students when they remembered the skills I taught them last week and used those skills to complete their homework and also to apply to other similar questions. The CEPs and various resources were useful. Thank you for your support for the past year!

I came to Ezy Math to get a job that I would be able to gain a range of skills from while working in my own time, which turned out great as I was able to work with clients around my own schedule. I've been quite happy with the results of my tutoring, I had a student who was getting a 'C' on average up to the top of the class with consistent 'A's. It's really great seeing the work you do affect others and when you do a good job, it really shows. I would recommend Ezy Math Tutoring to other prospective tutors, I never encountered a single problem with them and if I ever needed information, resources or help, they were always able to provide it to me. I would also recommend Ezy Math Tutoring to clients as having Ezy Math as a support structure definitely makes the work easier.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Smithfield Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Trinity Anglican School - Marlin Coast Campus.
