Listen to their ideas and help them realise how they can be moulded to fit the criteria that is set for them to meet. This is also coming from my own perspective of what I'd expect, as most times teachers impose their ideas on students and they are left alone to not be able to think for themselves. I can explain concepts quite well, and I make…

Beside academically helping a student, I believe being a strong support network is a really important thing as an english tutor to fulfill. I believe taking ample effort in preplanning lessons, thinking about the topic for different perspectives is vey important. The most important thing, I think is to stick with the student till they understand the topic and not race through the course plan. I think I am very creative in approaching problems. I can easily get into the mindset of the…

I believe an english tutor is there to guide and support a student to their best of their ability so that they may achieve the goals that they wish to reach. In doing so, a tutor should be patient and adaptive in their teaching approach, to allow students to push their own limits and unlock their full academic potential. I consider myself a very…

A tutor can make use of the two kinds of experience he/she has. Individualised learning is also important as tailoring lessons to meet each student's unique needs and learning styles ensures they grasp concepts effectively. As teachers/tutors hold a strong hold of a student's education and performance, I believe it is imperative for the tutor to be very like-minded and modern with the teaching methods, thus allowing the student to feel more comfortable in the teaching environment, a trait which i strongly believe i can provide. This environment which an english tutor…

There are many things that one tutor can do for a student. One of them is by building a strong and personal relationship with their student. I feel that this is important because the more that a student is connected to his or her tutor, the more trust and respect are built within them and the easier it will be for both of them. The tutor can also…

Inside Pendle HillTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Rory worked on converting between mixed numbers and improper fractions, as well as adding and subtracting mixed numbers using step-by-step examples.

Year 8 student Jawad focused on spelling tricky words and expanded his understanding of place value and rounding through targeted exercises.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Aaira practiced financial mathematics by calculating simple interest and began exploring compound interest problems to build confidence with real-world applications.

Recent Challenges

In Year 8 Maths, a student often relied on written algorithms for multiplication and fractions, hesitating to use mental strategies—even when prompted.

"He tried to remember all the steps in his head but missed key details," noted one tutor during multi-step word problems.

In Year 10 Algebra, another student struggled with copying equations correctly from the board—sign errors crept in when notes were copied too quickly, making it hard to spot where solutions went wrong.

For both, not writing out working or checking answers led to repeated confusion and lost time untangling avoidable mistakes during revision sessions.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Pendle Hill recently observed a Year 8 student who previously struggled with time-based maths questions, but after targeted practice, managed to score full marks on a test—a notable turnaround from earlier in the term.

Another high schooler has become much more independent in algebra: instead of waiting for step-by-step guidance, she now identifies when to add or subtract roots herself and confidently substitutes values into equations without prompting.

Meanwhile, a younger student who once hesitated to read aloud is now tackling challenging words like "rhythmic" and "competitiveness," showing clear improvement in pronunciation during sessions.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Ezy maths tutoring was just what we were after for Zena. We tried a couple of other tutoring companies before ezy maths tutoring but one we had to travel to to get there and the other offered us a young and inexperienced tutor, tutoring is more than knowing about the subject it is being able to teach it. Ezy maths tutoring offered us with everything we were looking for, reasonable pricing, at home tutoring and of course an excellent tutor. We found 'Tara' to be patient and understanding and Zena went from a D to getting B's and C's. We were very happy, thanks to Tara and ezy maths tutoring.

I decided to look for work as a tutor as I had time to spare and "fresh" knowledge that I thought I could share with students who wanted to do better. After being hired by two companies simultaneously, one being Ezy Math Tutoring, I would only have time to work for one of them. The decision to chose this company was easy as Ezy Math Tutoring provided greater support for its tutors. This included better pay, feedback, education on how to become a great tutor and a friendly group of people who were there to contact if I had any queries or if I needed help. The best thing about being a tutor was that I was able to dramatically improve the clients and their child's outlook on their education within a few weeks just by being there and providing a familiar face that knew how to help. I would definitely recommend Ezy Math Tutoring to any aspiring tutors and I thank them for the privilege of working as a tutor for the business.

Lauren had her first Tutorial with Caitlin today  and Caitlin loved her straight away with confidence built on day one. So far, so good :0)

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Wentworthville Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Girraween Public School.
