Business Studies Tutor Boondall, QLD
The best thing a tutor can do for a student is it reduce the fear of studying/learning a subject. Mathematics is a tough subject and it is important tutors take the right approach when they teach that subject. I am a huge believer in teachers being friends with their students. My biggest strength is that I get along with students and try and…

Business Studies Tutor Hendra, QLD
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is make them feel as if they have tried their absolute hardest and have done their best. A student should feel confident and empowered going into their next exam or assessment as they have acquired a new understanding of the subject. I think I have the patience to take my time with students and…

Business Studies Tutor Bulimba, QLD
I believe that the most important thing that a tutor can do for a student is to help them to overcome that fear that some people have for what they think is difficult. Once you convince someone that they can do something, they surely can do it by putting the dedication and effort required. I am a person who's very outgoing and easy to talk to. I…

Inside PinkenbaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Ben practised word problems involving money, focusing on organising his working out and identifying the key steps in multi-step questions.

Year 7 Hannah worked on algebraic expressions by expanding brackets and solving both one- and two-step equations.

In Year 8, Chloe tackled area and circumference of circles, using practical examples to consolidate her understanding of geometric formulas.

Recent Challenges

In Year 8, a student often left calculations unchecked and skipped reworking incorrect answers in algebra, as noted: "He needs to slow down with calculations and check answers." This led to repeated sign errors that weren't spotted until much later.

Meanwhile, a Year 10 student avoided attempting unfamiliar measurement questions, sticking only to types practiced in class—so new problem styles caused hesitation during revision sessions.

In Year 4, one learner wrote equations scattered across the page without clear layout; this made it hard for them to track their own working when solving word problems or reviewing mistakes after feedback.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Pinkenba noticed Kailyn, a high school student, tackling complex probability questions; after initially hesitating with worded problems, she began identifying key information and recalling formulas much more quickly than before.

Zayn, also in high school, showed a shift from rushing through instructions to slowing down and carefully reading each question—his writing became more detailed after feedback and he edited his own work independently.

In Year 3, Porscha stopped relying on her fingers for times tables; she started using visual strategies like charts and now checks her answers independently against previous sessions' work without prompting.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I want to thank Ezy Maths Tutoring, as Joshua seems to have connected well with David and is working with his strengths. Already we are seeing a difference in the confidence of David to tackle his Maths and is being guided to see the areas that he is lacking instead of total self doubt of thinking that he knows nothing .

Sam has been an excellent, kind, understanding and patient tutor with Gabriella. Under his guidance she has made improvements in her outcomes and study habits in spite of her great difficulties with the subject. She had gone from a fail grade to a pass mark and has steadily applied herself more consistently to regular study thanks to Sam. We have nothing but praise for his abilities.

We really cannot speak highly enough of Conaire. He is communicative, polite, always on time, and most importantly, highly competent with maths. From their first meeting, Tim has enjoyed and benefited greatly from his tutoring and encouragement. On a scale of 1 to 10, Conaire rates a 10+ (with no exaggeration at all).

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Wynnum Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Iona College.
