Legal Studies Tutor Clemton Park, NSW
I think it's a question of what a tutor can BE rather than do. I found in my experience that I always responded to teachers who were enthusiastic and portrayed a genuine care for the learning of the student. In a metaphorical sense, the tutor must think like a student in an empathetic way rather than merely be a one way stream of instruction. If a…

Inside Revesby HeightsTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 6 student Ethan worked on revising surface area and volume of triangular prisms, practicing examples ahead of a test.

In Year 11, Nahyan focused on calculus, including finding derivatives and identifying maximum and minimum points on graphs using past exam questions.

Meanwhile, Year 12 student Lara tackled integration skills by working through areas under curves and between two curves, applying these concepts to recent trial paper problems.

Recent Challenges

In Year 12 Mathematics, over-reliance on familiar question types has limited exposure to challenging problems—one tutor observed, "she needs more practice with HSC-style questions to handle time pressure and uncommon scenarios."

Meanwhile, in Year 8 Science, a student struggled to extract key information from sources when writing responses, making it hard to support answers with evidence.

At the primary level, incomplete or unclear written working—such as not copying sums correctly for homework—led to repeated confusion in basic addition and times tables. In these moments, missed steps or avoidance of showing working left gaps that slowed progress and dented confidence during class reviews.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Revesby Heights noticed a big shift for Nahyan, who previously hesitated with integration and trig; now she's independently solving exam-style questions at speed, even choosing new methods to tackle problems on her own.

Christina, in Year 8, used to get stuck drawing diagrams from written trigonometry problems but is now applying strategies she helped develop and attempting more complex geometry tasks without as much guidance.

Meanwhile, Anisa in primary school—who once found fractions overwhelming—recently tackled all her fraction simplification homework by herself and confidently explained each step aloud as she worked.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I would like to say that James is an excellent tutor. Liam really enjoyed having James as his tutor and I would recommend James to any body interested in a Maths or English tutor. I think that James has done such an excellent job that Liam is now in advance of his class mates and has developed the skills to progress without a tutor.

Jared was fantastic, Will was so comfortable with the VCE exam, he would not have got there without Jared's assistance.

Working with Ezymath tutoring was a challenging and rewarding journey that benefited me a great deal.  The organisation is run to a very professional standard, and this can't help but rub off on the tutors it employs.  I encountered a range of challenging scenarios with Ezymath from tutoring a year two boy with learning difficulties such as ADHD to helping a girl through 2 unit maths towards her completing the HSC.  Throughout the experience, Ezymath endeavors to improve their tutors skills via series of well thought out modules that consolidate essential skills and enlighten upon some less well known elements of teaching. I would recommend Ezymath to tutors beginning their quest in the field of education and to students/parents seeking a thoroughly professional tutoring service.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Padstow Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like De La Salle College, Revesby Heights.
