Local Reviews

Michael is a fantastic tutor for my Year 11 son who has been experiencing difficulties with his Maths Methods. Michael has been very patient and has explained things really well to the point that my son has been feeling very confident with his maths progress. He will continue to have tutoring from Michael which is seeing him really improve. Michael's been amazing

Inside Shepparton NorthTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 3 student Zane focused on addition and subtraction strategies, including the bridge to 10 and near doubles approaches, as well as recognising patterns within number operations.

Year 10 student Emily tackled linear equations and graphing, applying y = mx + c to plot lines and interpret real-world relationships using both algebraic rules and visual methods.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Michael completed a full regression analysis by creating scatterplots, fitting trendlines, calculating coefficients of determination, and interpreting residuals using the CAS calculator for data sets.

Recent Challenges

In Year 10 maths, one student repeatedly skipped the multiplication and subtraction steps in long division when an initial zero appeared, leading to incomplete solutions.

"He'd move on too soon without showing every stage," a tutor noted, making it difficult for teachers to follow the reasoning behind answers.

Meanwhile, a senior student in Methods left unit circle revision incomplete before a major test—relying on quick resources instead of consistent review.

In English (Year 6), handwriting and essay structure were often messy or unfinished, causing ideas to be lost during paragraph writing.

Missed homework meant several tasks remained unpracticed by week's end.

Recent Achievements

A Shepparton North tutoring session saw Savannah move from hesitancy to confidently solving long division problems with the 4-step method, needing only minimal help by the end.

In a recent high school maths lesson, Sienna, who initially struggled with interpreting cost functions and gradients, could independently analyse break-even scenarios and explain gradient roles after some targeted practice.

Another high school student, Ava, started off unsure about circular functions but finished the session able to walk through sine and cosine principles on her own—something she hadn't managed before. Ava capped things off by fully working through a tan function example herself.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Zac is progressing well and is enjoying his tutoring with Emily.  He has clicked with her and they seem to be working well together.

We really like Mark, his communication style really suits Remy, and he is able to work out what she needs very quickly. We would love to stay with him until the end of the year. They are a good match. Thank you

I came to Ezy Math tutoring honestly because tutoring seemed like the best thing that would fit into my timetable. What I didn't expect was how much I would enjoy teaching the students. I found myself excited to come to tutoring, committed to doing all the prep work and checking up on my students before and after a big exam. I'm not gonna lie, its a lot of work but with even more reward as you see the students you're teaching slowly start to understand and apply their content. I felt my greatest achievement was taking a 60% achieving student in the second year 10 maths class and encouraging and working with him until he was hitting mid-90s marks and had been accepted into ext 1 maths for this year. I'm sad to leave Ezy math because I really enjoyed tutoring but I Would definitely recommend it to anyone. The support at Ezy math was the best. Even though I never met a staff member I felt they were great at checking up on me and helping me when I needed it!

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Mobile Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like All Saints Anglican School.
