Inside SingletonTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Ella worked through probability using Venn diagrams and two-way tables to strengthen her understanding of chance events.

For Year 9, James focused on algebraic manipulation and also reviewed graphing techniques to support upcoming assessments.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Priya tackled trigonometric identities with revision, using unit circle diagrams to reinforce key concepts for her next test.

Recent Challenges

In Year 9 trigonometry, one student needed reminders to focus on the different trig identities and use traditional algebra, as "simplification steps were sometimes skipped."

In Year 12, there was a pattern of relying on familiar question types when revising for calculus tests—unfamiliar problems received less attention, leading to hesitation under test conditions.

Meanwhile, a Year 6 student's written work in fractions showed inconsistent layout, which made it harder to spot calculation errors during review.

When tackling worded percentage questions in Year 8, rushing led to misreading what was actually being asked, resulting in incomplete answers and lost marks.

Recent Achievements

One Singleton tutor noticed a Year 10 student who previously struggled with trig equations now independently solving sine and cosine problems using the unit circle—a shift from hesitancy to tackling new question types without prompting.

In a recent session, a Year 8 student, who often mixed up metric conversions, confidently handled length conversions between units and checked her answers aloud before moving on.

Meanwhile, a younger student in Year 4 showed initiative by annotating his own stem-and-leaf plots after weeks of needing reminders for each step.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Srishti has been a wonderful tutor for Eric and she developed a friendly rapport with him in a very short time.  Eric described her as having a nice personality and being very knowledgeable.  I would be glad to recommend her to other tutoring jobs if needed. I wish to thank you for fulfilling my criteria of a good tutor so quickly and so successfully and I shall not hesitate to recommend EzyMath to other people in need of tutoring services.  This is the only tutoring agency that really listened to my request I have ever dealed with.

Morgan has progressed in his math quite well, he feels more confident, and feels better about his results in class as well. My wife and I are considerably happy with how Morgan has progressed since we have been using the service and would gladly recommend the service. We would like to commend and thank Meneka for her tutoring and actually making math easier for him. It got to a stage where he refused to let us help him, and him only wanting Meneka to help him. So she is definitely a great tutor.

I really did get enjoyment out of helping the students understand theory that they didn't before, and it was satisfying each time they said "I get it now". I would recommend Ezy math tutoring to other tutors as they are very professional and they locate students that are close by to your home to reduce travel time. The interview process is very professional, leading to the quality of tutors of a high caliber.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Lakelands Library and Community Centre—or at your child's school (with permission), like Singleton Primary School.
