Engineering Studies Tutor Acton, ACT
A tutor can make a student love the subject he/she hates. The most important thing for a tutor is to understand the student, his/her interests, aptitude, and what he/she is inclined towards. If you have a basic idea of the student mindset you can develop techniques to make them understand the subject in a way they don't find it hard. Gamification…

Local Reviews

Dineth told us that when he was a boy he aspired to be a teacher at a university, and I believe him. He is respectful, engaging and provides very clear explanations. He has a knack for working out how the student thinks and tailoring his reasoning appropriately. Our son learned a great deal from Dineth about maths and also about how to be a good student.

Inside StirlingTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Christian worked on **solving simultaneous equations using the elimination method** and practiced finding the area of a circle and parallelogram, as well as calculating volumes for cylinders and prisms.

In Year 10, Sophia focused on **writing and balancing chemical equations—including net ionic forms**—and learned to name polyatomic ions while exploring solubility concepts.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Alex applied **molar ratios from balanced chemical equations to calculate mass**, reviewed scientific notation and significant figures in chemistry calculations, and reflected on quiz performance to identify next steps.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student repeatedly left their maths notes at school, making it hard to review covered concepts or check prior feedback before new sessions ("No book again today. First part of problem was done in class and the original copy of this work was unavailable").

In Year 11, another relied on a calculator for simple multiplication and square numbers during test prep, slowing down more complex problem-solving.

A Year 8 student's algebra work showed cramped formatting, which made multi-step equations harder to follow.

For one Year 4 learner, not listening fully to explanations led to repeated confusion with area problems.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Stirling noticed Qais, a high schooler, moving from hesitantly working through chemistry equations to quickly applying his understanding by tackling extra practice questions and actively asking for help whenever stuck.

Another win came from a senior student who used to overlook details in maths proofs but now independently spots and corrects gaps before finalising her answers.

In Year 5, Samuel—who struggled with long division earlier this term—recently completed a multiplication tables quiz with 97% accuracy and then solved all his long division problems without needing any hints.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Steven is enjoying his tutoring and is very comfortable with Robert.  It's still early to tell, but Steven's confidence in Maths has definitely been lifted! Thank you

Thanks for your email. Tamara is very happy with Jessie. He is organised, well prepared and able to teach. Tamara had mathematic test at school and her results were very good.  She was sitting on 50.7%, and following tutorials and practice afterwards her score was 67%. She is very hard working student willing to improve and as parents we are very happy with Jessie as tutor to help Tamara to reach expected goals. Thank you!

Thanks for the email and yes Tannishka is very happy with Ryans tutoring. He is already showing signs of improvement.
