Baden is an excellent tutor, and he did great work.
Kat, Tarragindi

Inside TarragindiTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Ava practiced converting between decimals, percentages, and fractions, and solved chance questions using probability expressed as fractions.

Year 9 student Chloe worked through algebraic skills including expanding brackets and factorising quadratic expressions.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Ben focused on the quadratic equation alongside techniques for solving linear equations and manipulating algebraic terms.

Recent Challenges

A Year 11 student working on polynomials needs improvement checking back over her work to ensure she doesn't make simple mistakes—overlooking this step led to avoidable errors persisting through solutions.

In Year 9 algebra, one student hesitated to trust their own working, repeatedly questioning themselves and slowing progress; as the tutor noted, he doubted himself constantly which doesn't allow him to reach his full potential.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 student's maths written work was sometimes unclear because numbers were placed in the wrong columns during multiplication—this made it harder for both student and tutor to spot where confusion began.

Recent Achievements

One Tarragindi tutor recently saw a Year 10 student move from frequent mistakes in expanding algebraic brackets to completing every question correctly and without hesitation.

Another high schooler who previously struggled to structure persuasive writing now drafts PESTO paragraphs independently, remembering all parts without reminders.

In primary sessions, a younger student who once guessed during oral reading now pauses to sound out difficult words, showing more care and accuracy with each line.

The same student finished his latest story plan entirely on his own—something he'd never attempted before.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

It's all going very well.  Billy really likes her and said she is clarifying a lot for him. I'm conscious that they are rushing through things at school so have told Mithra to take her time and not move on to new areas until she is satisfied he grasps it.

Monique is very happy.  In just two lessons, she has found a huge difference.  I commend Katy as Monique finds her very knowledgeable, friendly and easy going.  I am pleased as I too can see the huge difference in Monique's confidence. Thank you for recommending Katy, she is a marvel.

All good so far. Lauren has said that she is coping better in Maths at School so that's a good start.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Annerley Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Wellers Hill State School.
