A tutor is the one and only one who can make a subject interesting to students, and try to bring out the best from them. And a tutor can also add moral values through studies which in general can add value to a student's life. I try to make people understand subjects relating to real life aspects so as to make even abstract things easy, And I also…

I think the most important thing for a tutor to do for a student is to listen to them. In order to properly help a student it is essential that you listen to them and focus on what they say they understand and where they say they are getting caught as they often understand parts of concepts and just need your help to put them all together. I think…

I think the most important thing that a tutor can teach is how to learn. Things like study habits and exam prep techniques can help students immeasurably. A tutor shouldn’t just repeat what a students been taught by their teacher. I believe it’s important a tutor listens to their student and understands the areas they struggle in and need help with, and to further understand how that student learns as everyone learns in different ways. A tutor that understands their student will be capable of…

Inside TarrawannaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 11 student Danu worked on HSC Chemistry content, focusing on mole calculations, electron configuration (including spdf notation), and intermolecular forces.

Year 10 student Zali practised adding and subtracting multi-digit numbers and tackled worded problems, then moved to number patterns and interpreting number lines for improved numeracy skills.

For primary support, a Year 4 session with Allegra covered multiplication using games like Prime Climb and introduced tangram puzzles to reinforce geometric shapes in a hands-on way.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11 Chemistry, a student was reminded to prepare notes from slides before sessions but often arrived without them—this made it harder to discuss average molecular weight and spdf notation ahead of a quiz.

During Year 10 revision for maths assessments, "she needs to show explicit working out for each question," as one tutor noted, yet her written steps remained brief or missing.

In Year 7, keeping worksheets and notes scattered meant extra time searching for material instead of reviewing exponents.

Meanwhile, a Year 3 learner left homework incomplete and required frequent encouragement just to begin reading tasks.

Recent Achievements

A Tarrawanna tutoring session saw a Year 11 student, Charlotte, shift from feeling unsure about her writing to independently setting clear academic goals and asking targeted questions about each topic—something she hadn't done before.

Meanwhile, Felicity (Year 10) began actively self-correcting small mistakes in her essays without prompting and used more varied adjectives after initially struggling to diversify her vocabulary.

In primary school, Allegra's tutor noted that she was once anxious in maths class but is now so engaged she earned a commendation card for improvement and proudly said she no longer feels nervous about maths.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

We would like to express our sincere thanks to Ezymath and Natasha. During the half year's tuition, my daughter's English has been significantly improved. She also becomes more confident. I am very satisfied with Ezymath's service. I actually recommended ezymath to some friends, but not sure if they will finally find help from you.

I would also like to advise that our tutor Frank has been absolutely fantastic with our daughter Sophie.  In only a short time he has helped her enormously and has improved her confidence and understanding of the maths topics.  She is feeling a lot less stressed with her homework levels and workload heading into Year 9 next year , just as long as we have Frank!

Hi Erica Lachie seems to be enjoying his maths sessions and is keen make them each week which we are pleased about. Thanks for the follow up.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Corrimal District Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Tarrawanna Public School.
