I believe that there are two crucial things that tutors can and should do for students. Firstly, each tutor should present the rationale and the logic while explaining new concepts to students rather than make them memorize and automatically follow the rules or steps. Students should understand what they do and that is the responsibility of…

Definitions and basic rules and concepts are very important in order to have a solid foundation. By slowly building up the theory and applying it to problems, students can use logic and reasoning to eventually solve difficult situations. Apart from this, inspiring a genuine interest in the subject is something I value as a maths tutor. I am…

By being patient, a tutor can help a student to learn concepts and instill self-confidence, enabling them to achieve their best. Furthermore, listening to students carefully…

The best thing my methods tutor did for me in year 12 was by far to cut out the crap and stretched analogies. To learn things simply for what they are. By understanding principles in a simple and raw way, the originally complex problems were solved at a glance, leaving only the problem of writing down the working I had already seen in my mind. …

I feel it is most important to be kind and approachable, along with being adaptable to what the student requires. Students should feel comfortable asking the tutor questions, in order to for the student to truly address their weaknesses and improve. Each student also has their own learning style, and it is important to adapt to their needs, so…

One of the most important things a maths tutor can do for a student is to inspire them through support. For a student, the worst thing a maths tutor can do is to strike fear into them about their progress or their work. I consider a tutor's job to support the student in every way: academically, physically, and psychologically. The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to provide them with realistic hopes: to stand from our…

The most important things a maths tutor can do for a student is to understand that they are essentially human beings, and should be treated as such. Local Reviews

It's been a pleasure working with EzyMath Tutoring and our tutor, Thanh Vo has been an excellent teacher to Isabella. Her grades have improved and the communication back to myself as a parent has been professional and clear from Thanh. Highly recommended to anyone looking for excellent tutors. Thank you Thanh for being an excellent tutor and for building Isabella's confidence.

Inside TemplestoweTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 11 student Christy worked through exam revision, correcting her completed 2024 NHT Biology exam and revisiting cellular respiration alongside other weaker areas identified in her results.

For Year 10, Sarah revised surface area and volume calculations, including conversions between cubic metres and litres using real-life measurement scenarios.

Meanwhile, Year 12 student Daniel focused on galvanic cells and fuel cells in Chemistry, practicing application questions to deepen understanding of electrochemical reactions.

Recent Challenges

A Year 12 Biology student often revised only familiar content, leaving weaker areas like cellular respiration under-prepared; as one tutor noted, "she needs to be more consistent with revision to cover gaps in knowledge."

In Year 11 Maths Methods, another student's working was sometimes disorganised, with margins missing and steps hard to follow—this slowed down checking for small errors.

Meanwhile, a Year 6 student skipped homework worksheets entirely; when asked, she admitted the tasks felt overwhelming.

These patterns meant extra time spent revisiting missed basics instead of progressing confidently into new or complex topics.

Recent Achievements

A Templestowe tutor recently saw a Year 11 student who'd been hesitant with multi-part biology questions start to tackle them independently, linking steps in cellular respiration and including previous lesson knowledge without prompts.

In another session, a Year 9 maths student who used to leave out key points now self-checks answers and revises when something's missing, showing more initiative instead of waiting for corrections.

Meanwhile, a younger primary student who struggled with mixed numbers last term now completes fraction modules faster than before and finished an extra worksheet with every answer correct.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Anthony is happy with his tutor and seem to work well with him. So all good so far.

Ethan is finding the tutoring to be very helpful st this time. Tiffany is very patient and organised and I can see that both children will get great benefit from the sessions

Clare is comfortable with Daniel already and has had at least a boost in confidence with having him "on her team".

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Doncaster Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Templestowe Park Primary School.
