As a tutor, I think the enthusiasm is the most important. For a tutor, they have to pay as much effort as they can to help student to solve their questions and let them to understand the question well, they can not give up in the process. Also, they have to prepare well before the tutorial so that students will not waste their time. I have been a…

I think that a tutor should be able to meet the individual needs of a student and present the content in an easily understandable format for them especially in the field of mathematics where there are often multiple pathways to achieving an answer. My strengths as a tutor come from me being a good listener and a dedicated person who will work…

The most important things a tutor can do are build a student’s confidence, create a safe space for questions, and teach in a way that suits their learning style. I know how competitive and burdensome academics can be, especially for students in high achieving environments ( e.g Melbourne high), so I believe being a pillar of understanding and…

The most important things a tutor can do for a student is to teach them the principal of solving a problem so they master the basics. As a result, students can solve anything they meet in their way in watever form because they understand the basic rule and principal and it make them unbeatable. I'm really patient in teaching children. I understand…

My most important things that I would do for a student would be to adapt to the way that they learn rather than using a one-size-fits-all method as every student learns differently and does things in a certain way in order for them to succeed. Another critical point is developing a mindset and motivation that focuses on learning and then…

The relationship between me and the student is very essential. It is utmost important that I ensure that both the student and the parent is happy with the way I teach and how they see me, therefore my first impression is extremely. I would also need to keep an eye on how the student is progressing by comparing the grade when he/she first began…

I consider understanding the student's problems and establishing a strong rapport to be the most important things. Tutors may be great teachers or have excellent knowledge of the content, but providing the correct and necessary information is of utmost importance. Understanding what may prevent a student from achieving as high as they want allows…

The most important thing a tutor could do is to understand the student they are teaching. Not all students are the same and their needs aren't either. So knowing them can help the student grow in their studies. I am currently studying a Bachelors of Education (Secondary) and Bachelors of Science, as such I have both the theoretical knowledge of…

Guide them and help them build their confidence as they learn. To a degree, that allows them to then learn on their own and become independent. The best part of being a tutor is when you realize your student no longer needs you. It's easy for me to position myself in someone else's shoes. I'm usually very good at identifying what my students don't…

I think there are two main things a tutor can do for a student; maintain high grades and garner a positive attitude. It is imperative as a tutor's job to help the student maintain or achieve high grades in the particular area of study. However, high academic standards are not simply enough. It is also important for a tutor to build up an…

I believe the most important thing is to allow the student to share the same passion and interest for the subject, since that is the biggest factor for inciting motivation within the student to keep going. A tutor can do many things, but the most important one is give their students the confidence to apply what they have learned to the best of their ability. You can guide a student through a dozen practice questions, but ultimately, it is more important that they see the work as approachable and not impossible to do by themselves. As a tutor I am…

The most important thing a tutor can do is not only to support a student but to make them feel as though they have accomplished what they set out to achieve, even if it is a small goal, as long as it gets fulfilled. I think having a good personality is the most important thing as a tutor. This is because an educator is supposed to be patient, calm and helpful in front of his/her students. If he/she can't do that, he/she will always be in arguments with the students and thus mutual trusts between them will be lost. I think I have a good academic backgrounds…

Local Reviews

It's been a pleasure working with EzyMath Tutoring and our tutor, Thanh Vo has been an excellent teacher to Isabella. Her grades have improved and the communication back to myself as a parent has been professional and clear from Thanh. Highly recommended to anyone looking for excellent tutors. Thank you Thanh for being an excellent tutor and for building Isabella's confidence.

Inside TemplestoweTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 11 student Christy worked through exam revision, correcting her completed 2024 NHT Biology exam and revisiting cellular respiration alongside other weaker areas identified in her results.

For Year 10, Sarah revised surface area and volume calculations, including conversions between cubic metres and litres using real-life measurement scenarios.

Meanwhile, Year 12 student Daniel focused on galvanic cells and fuel cells in Chemistry, practicing application questions to deepen understanding of electrochemical reactions.

Recent Challenges

A Year 12 Biology student often revised only familiar content, leaving weaker areas like cellular respiration under-prepared; as one tutor noted, "she needs to be more consistent with revision to cover gaps in knowledge."

In Year 11 Maths Methods, another student's working was sometimes disorganised, with margins missing and steps hard to follow—this slowed down checking for small errors.

Meanwhile, a Year 6 student skipped homework worksheets entirely; when asked, she admitted the tasks felt overwhelming.

These patterns meant extra time spent revisiting missed basics instead of progressing confidently into new or complex topics.

Recent Achievements

A Templestowe tutor recently saw a Year 11 student who'd been hesitant with multi-part biology questions start to tackle them independently, linking steps in cellular respiration and including previous lesson knowledge without prompts.

In another session, a Year 9 maths student who used to leave out key points now self-checks answers and revises when something's missing, showing more initiative instead of waiting for corrections.

Meanwhile, a younger primary student who struggled with mixed numbers last term now completes fraction modules faster than before and finished an extra worksheet with every answer correct.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Doncaster Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Templestowe Park Primary School.
