Engineering Studies Tutor Corrimal, NSW
Inspire them to do their best and come interested in following up doing their own study in the subject that I am helping them with. Help them to work out the answers for themselves not doing the work for them. I am a friendly person who listens well and understands the hardships of study so can be sympathetic. I know how to explain the workings so…

Engineering Studies Tutor Fairy Meadow, NSW
A few things are, 1. Make the session more productive and interactive. 2. When teaching something we should not try to make them memorize it, but we should make them understand it. 3. Prior to the session we should have a word with students and identify his/her knowledge level. I can quickly understand the level of students and adjust the…

I believe that tutoring is more than just helping the students improve at a subject, but also to help boost their own confidence in any specific area. A tutor can act as a strong support system allowing for growth and improvement of the students in all aspects of their education. I’m very patient which has helped me in the past when working…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to be understanding and approachable, and to ensure that topics and solutions are explained in a manner that is catered to each particular student while checking they understand each step of the solution. 1 on 1 tutoring is a powerful tool to get ahead of the curve, or to get back up to…

I need to assist students in believing they can learn. I would need to carefully scaffold tasks and assignments. Learning strategies should be put in place with work habits that facilitate learning. Appropriate feedback and practice are also essential to ensure the knowledge, skills and understandings endures leading to improved learning outcomes.…

I believe the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to be patient and slowly help the student understand. If they are not quite getting the content, a tutor should also be able to teach it with a different approach, and eventually find a method that is intuitive for the student. As a tutor, some of my strengths are patience,…

The most important thing a tutor can do for students is to help them understand the material and build their confidence in their ability to learn. A good tutor will be able to identify any misconceptions or areas of confusion a student may have and provide clear explanations and examples to help them understand the material. Additionally, a tutor…

I consider the most important things a tutor can do for a student are to provide personalized support, foster a deep understanding of the subject matter, and build the student's confidence. A tutor should also identify and address gaps in knowledge, adapt to the student's learning style, and inspire a love for learning. My strengths as a tutor…

The initial session went well with my grandson and the tutor Ovin was very helpful and informative with my grandson.

Inside ThirroulTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 9 student Max worked through solving simultaneous equations and applied the quadratic formula to tackle quadratic word problems.

In Year 10, Chloe focused on logarithms and practiced sketching graphs by hand for visual understanding.

For a younger learner in Year 4, Remi covered multiplication and division basics along with calendar and time questions as part of his homework review.

Recent Challenges

A Year 9 student repeatedly mixed up pronumerals in algebra, assuming they matched previous questions—"attention to detail, especially to the pronumerals," noted one tutor—which led to errors that weren't spotted until late in working.

Meanwhile, a Year 11 learner lost track of earlier content after shifting to new topics, making revision for exams difficult and leading to confusion during more complex factorisation.

In Year 7 English, reluctance to complete homework became clear when a student dodged accountability at lesson's end.

For a younger primary student, not showing written working in maths hid mistakes with subtraction and delayed progress on arithmetic foundations.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Thirroul recently noticed some big changes: one Year 11 student who used to get stuck on simultaneous equations is now choosing between elimination and substitution confidently, even explaining her reasoning aloud.

In Year 8, a student who once guessed at where he went wrong now pauses to check his work, then solves similar questions correctly without prompting.

Meanwhile, a younger student who felt embarrassed about using finger counting has started doing it openly and with pride—he's flying through perimeter problems that were tricky before and finished all his area questions without any reminders.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

MIchael has enjoyed Nathan's tutoring sessions. My son found Nathan's theory far more informative and much clearer then his current maths teacher. Michael connected well with Nathan.

Ezymath were professional and helpful, they quickly obtained a tutor in my area whilst other tutoring companies had glossy ads or websites, but were disinterested or did not get back to me. The tutor provided helped my daughter improve greatly in Maths. I would recommend their service to anyone.

I have seen improvement already. Jason is a gem and I want to continue with Will having his weekly tutoring session.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Thirroul Branch Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like St Michael's Catholic Primary School.
