Biology Tutor Trinity Park, QLD
Tutoring is essentially an aid for student's learning in schools. The most important thing that a biology tutor can do is to ignite students' passion for learning. This can be acheived through helping them with questions and concepts that they find confusing, guiding them to develop their own problem solving strategies and most importantly…

Biology Tutor Trinity Park, QLD
I believe that building a students belief in themselves and their abilities combined with developing their set of strategies for dealing with unfamiliar problems are the greatest things a tutor can give their students. Establishing rapport with students is my greatest strength. Having 14 years experience as a principal and classroom teacher means…

Biology Tutor Smithfield, QLD
A good tutor will help students develop the problem-solving skills necessary so that they are confident in their abilities when faced with a difficult question outside the session. A tutor should be there to guide the student towards their own conclusions, whilst ensuring all gaps in understanding are filled. Importantly, a tutor must provide a…

Inside Trinity ParkTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Will worked on angles homework and practiced calculating area and perimeter for upcoming test preparation.

In Year 9, Layla focused on applying the Pythagoras theorem to solve right-angled triangle problems and completed revision sessions ahead of her exam.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Sophia tackled expanding complex algebraic brackets and solving equations, along with extra questions to prepare for an upcoming formative assessment.

Recent Challenges

A Year 8 student arrived without the necessary materials, which meant time was lost searching for past work instead of progressing with new algebra skills.

In Year 11, a student had to redo an entire lesson after losing her homework sheet; "she couldn't recall what we'd covered last week," the tutor observed, making it harder to build on concepts.

Another Year 6 student repeatedly left assigned homework incomplete and missed practice with worded problems—her confidence wavered when faced with unfamiliar tasks in class.

In each case, these lapses led to gaps in recall and more classroom frustration than progress.

Recent Achievements

One Trinity Park tutor noticed a big shift with a Year 10 student who, after struggling to check her own work, now backchecks for mistakes without prompting and applies feedback to improve her assignments.

In Year 8 maths, another student began bringing in her own revision questions before tests—something she'd never done—showing real initiative by asking about concepts she found tricky and working through harder problems independently.

Meanwhile, a younger student who used to lose focus midway through sessions managed to stay engaged throughout an entire lesson and completed every question with only occasional assistance.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Thanks Gene, so far, Jamie's response has been very good.  He has had 2 lessons to date, as last week was cancelled at our request (he was away on camp). Jamie has responded very well to Eshan, who's approach is unassuming, gentle, but persuasive and constructive.  Jamie actually looks forward to spending time with Eshan to teach him his Maths strategies. We look forward to seeing Eshan again next week. Thanks also for the newsletter.  I have to say that I think your supportive written material is very useful!

All is great with Nathan. He's a lovely man and April has her block testing for maths tomorrow and she's confident- a good sign. April will now have a couple of weeks break due to holidays but Nathan will certainly be coming back. April quietly winges  about the homework Nathan sets for her but we don't interfere and are glad that Nathan makes sure its completed as April's attitude to maths was pretty bad.

Anne is loving tutoring and James is doing an amazing job so yes we are very happy and wish to continue!

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Smithfield Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Holy Cross School.
