What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I’ve been tutoring my siblings over their highschool years, particularly in maths and found enjoyable. I love the satisfaction when once I give them a little tip or a hint with a question, their brain clicks and are able to make those connections to complete the question. Additionally, while tutoring I’m able to improve my communication skills, while learning to how to teach various different age levels. I know it may be tough sometimes, but I’m willing to give this challenge a go, to help these children achieve goals and good grades.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

There are some key attributes I have that makes me suitable as a tutor. Being enthusiastic is a good attitude towards tutoring kids as it helps the kids to be encouraged during learning. Patience is key to deal with tough challenges or situations, but dealing with it in a calm, respectful manner. Good organisation is something I have developed since young, writing to-do lists and planning out events. Lastly, caring for the student, so that they feel comfortable to share and come to me for any problems :)

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe a tutor should be able to provide the guidance and little tips/hints to a student when they are struggling with their work. Personally, I think the best way for them to think how to approach problems/questions, is if they make the links/connections themselves. Sometimes, they just need a small reminder or advice to get them going. However, if they are really struggling with some concept, the tutor should review through the foundational things and then go abouts showing examples of how to do it before challenging the student with problems. Do not directly give answers to them.
