What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The thing I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing genuine growth in students and knowing that I had some role to play in that because it is really fulfilling. I've worked with students on placement and have worked with family/family friends and seeing smiles on faces when activities get done is an awesome sight to see which makes me passionate and motivated to help more students.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think one of my strengths as a person but especially a tutor is the ability to be able to explain things in Layman's terms. At university, there are many lecturers and tutors who don't understand the importance of this skill and I can see that it disconnects not only me but the others in the class. I generally speak in ways that people can understand the message or lesson that I'm trying to get across and I have found that this really helps when I'm helping students in class or at home.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I consider the most important thing a tutor can offer a student is comfortability. Not only regarding the subject they are tutoring but also comfortability in speaking to a "person in power" and asking the "dumb questions". As a current university student, I encounter lots of peers who ask me questions that they are afraid to ask the coordinator due to fear of sounding stupid. I believe it is vital that a tutor establishes themselves as one that understands why these "dumb" questions are asked invites any questions about misunderstandings, no matter how obvious they may seem to the student.

David's enthusiasm and effort results in there being little that 'needs improvement'.
David picked up on the newer concepts really quickly and it's awesome to see.

Sometimes David can make minor mistakes that would affect his marks negatively in an exam setting. Luckily we don't have to worry about that
Ben has sound knowledge of the topics and completes even the complex unfamiliar questions.

I do think that Ben may need a little bit more consistent study if he wants to really achieve well. However, he seemed confident enough which is what really matters.
Went well, David has clearly enjoyed getting away from the algebra heavy stuff, understandably so.

Sometimes it would be better if David wrote out his working a little more (not leaving out some lines) but honestly I can understand thinking some things are irrelevant. It would just help with his mistakes in my opinion.
