What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The thing I enjoy most about tutoring is making a difference in someone's life by helping them feel more confident in themselves and their skills. It is rewarding to know that I have improved an aspect of the student's life, no matter how small that is.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As a tutor, I am able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of students of many ages and abilities. I can tailor my teaching style and presentation of content to them and what suits them best. I always strive to go above and beyond to prepare for each student and plan lessons that will be most effective for each individual student.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor has the opportunity to encourage confidence in students. Not solely confidence that they can achieve highly, but confidence that they can give anything a go and learn and improve as they do. A tutor can present things in an engaging way to encourage the student to be open-minded to things they may have discounted because they seem difficult. Helping a student adopt a positive mindset towards their academics is one of the most important things a tutor can do.

We worked on formatting the assignment correctly today and making the writing clearer, which is an understandable area for improvement at the year 10 level.
Molly did show proficiency with ICE table and Kc calculations once they were explained to her.

As there is still plenty of time between now and Molly's next test, I am not overly concerned with her lack of confidence in the new content. That being said, her knowledge of topic 2.1 is something that she needs to work on, given that it is partly revision from year 11.
As Matilda was present in class for the practical that this assignment is based on, she is coping well with the assignment.

I assisted Matilda today with the layout and writing of the report and continue to encourage her to write as independently as possible, with me as a support.
