What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
To me tutoring is extremely inspiring and amazing. Not only do I get to pass down my knowledge and help others who are in situations like I was, but I get to discover new perspectives and ambitions from each student. I sincerely wish for each of my students to improve whether it be by a substantial amount or even a little. Growth is Growth. Each person has their own pace and it my personal mission to open new opportunities through equipping each one of students with the skills to independently study.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strength is my creativity. I find that by simply telling a child how to study or cram knowledge isn't beneficial for the long term. I prefer to create activities that teach my students how to think and apply their knowledge to real live scenarios (this helps with worded questions) instead of relying on tutors or teachers to give them the answers. My strength is my dedication to go above and beyond to create opportunities for my students to strive.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Throughout my life my parents, tutors and mentors pushed me to get the best marks I could. Despite my marks consistenly being above average, I did not retain the crammed knowledge after exam. It wasn't until I experimented with multiple study techniques that I discovering how to understand knowledge instead of simply repeating the textbooks. I can help my students not only revise or learn concepts but find what study technique works best for them to continue to grow and learn.

Bryce seems to understand the content, for example, when I tried to explain to him how multiplication works by using pipe cleaners to represent numbers he was able to apply his 5 times tables to count quickly. He was also quick to adopt the concept of tallying, understanding that it was a faster way to count more efficiently. Bryce is a curious kid, which allowed him to ask questions whenever he was confused on something. To be honest, although Bryce gets distracted easily he's also very fast to get back on track and is honest if he is getting bored with the current work and is open to trying different ways to learn.
It was quite clear that Bryce is not confident in his mathematical answers ,which was evident in him being hesitant in circling his multiple choice answers. He struggled a lot with differentiating with addition and multiplication. As of now i'm not sure if he truly understands the multiplication concept or if he was simply following patterns. Bryce is easily intimidated by the format of maths questions. Though, he works well with worded questions, he lacks the confidence to complete maths when written on it's own.

His pattern recognition is very good as well his ability to break habits quickly. He is now more confident with addition and subtraction and is ready to move onto multiplication.
He still counts on his fingers and can't add anything above 5 without struggling. Needs more work on speed (this can come with practice)
