What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
A handful of subjects which I enjoy Exclude physics, maths and engineering (which is really daughter to the preceding). To be able to share my own joy for the subjects is nigh dream come true.
Also, being a second year Engineering/Maths I find what I’m learning to be of an ever growing complexity: what was once simple arithmetic became derivatives which soon spun into integrals and continued to spiral into joyous multivariable calculus and ANCIVAs.
Ultimately, I’m to say that teaching makes for a fine learning opportunity. Be it reaffirming myself of fundamentals or otherwise.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My greatest strengths would be my patience, active listening and communication.
I find these to be important to a tutor as they allow one to teach regardless of their level of technical knowledge in the subject.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
As fundamental as academic guidance Is for a student, I have always believed that a student’s enjoyment in a subject is paramount for it is as important, if not More important, than subject matter: it is a teacher’s job to share their own passion for the the subject.
Beyond this, a human connection is another priority. Amiability helps the student feel comfortable around the tutor. There are, to this day, a number of teachers that I will continue to think of fondly.
