What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
What I enjoy most about tutoring is the opportunity to witness firsthand the growth and progress of the students that I am teaching. Thereβs a unique satisfaction that comes from helping someone understand a concept that they previously struggled with. I love creating those 'aha' moments where everything clicks for the student, and seeing their confidence grow as a result.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
My strengths as a tutor include my patience, adaptability, and deep understanding of the subjects I teach. I pride myself on being able to be patient when I teach others. My extensive background in english especially allows me to teach people well.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I think it is crucial that a tutor builds good rapport with their student. They also need to be patient with the student and have good understanding. They should also focus on creating a supportive work environment that is positive.

He was able to complete some of the questions well. Most of the questions of last week's homework that he attempted were done correctly. He also mentioned to me that he understands what was going on in today's class well. I think it is great that he is verbally communicating what is going on in his mind with me. This is good as it helps me to understand his needs better and know how to help him better.
He forgot to do the homework assigned in the previous lesson. So that cut out some of our lesson time as I gave him some time to complete the questions in class. I didn't want to move on to new things without him re-inforcing what was learnt in the previous week. So, I reminded him to try his best to complete this week's homework before the next lesson. Also, I realised that his foundation is a bit weak when it comes to the terms like angles and radius. He is also not too sure on how to operate his calculator well so he will have to ask his school teacher on that.

I can see him improving. I did notice that he was able to explain last week's content better after completing his homework. Another good thing is that he was able to complete all the homework questions and get them correct as well. It shows that he was able to understand the concepts well.
He forgot part of his homework which was to memorise conversion formulas of the units. He needs to put in more effort when it comes to remembering all the homework, So, I made him spend some time of today's class to memorise the formulas. He was able to grasp them well.

He got most of the homework questions correct so that was good. I went through what he did not get correct and made sure he understood it well. Also, he has been trying to explain the concepts back to me after I explain it to him so I can see that he is trying to make and effort to understand what is being taught in the lesson. Also, he made effort to complete the homework given last week.
He definitely needs to build on his foundation more by doing more practice questions. Hopefully, the homework questions that I have been giving him will help him out in that aspect. He also needs to learn how to ask more questions if he does not understand something. He should ask the doubts immediately so that I can help to clear them.

I can see that he requires more practice for fundamental math concepts (like addition and multiplication of fractions). I have given him some homework to do on those topics. My aim over the next few weeks is to get his basics to be better over the next few weeks.
