What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy seeing that light bulb moment where students understand a concept. I also enjoy pushing the challenge of finding many ways to solve and teach a concept.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As a tutor I would be more than happy to explain concepts more than once so that students have a strong understanding of the content. I am a very patient person. When I complete questions for my studies I like to answer questions in a way that makes sense to me such that I can teach others better. I don't like to teach methods that just work without understanding why it actually works. This is a practice I value when learning and teaching.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor should be engaging, understanding and patient. They should strengthen students understandings in topics where they may be struggling. Tutors should motivate students to try their absolute best at all times.

Student needs to keep practicing to see substantial improvements. Practicing will reduce silly arithmetic mistakes in working out. Also working out should be done neatly, such that if there was a problem it can be found where the issue is. Work from the top of the page and down. Label any equations that may be used to answer the question.

She made a good attempt at converting mathematical wording to equations. This can be difficult to do when the question has a lot of information but after discussion it seemed that the student was starting to understand where she went wrong. She also made good progress towards solving problems involving energy after seeing that some questions were not as difficult as they may have seemed.
Student needs to spend more time on mathematics at home so knowledge gained can be retained. Good study habits need to be implemented before Year 11 Preliminary Exams or Year 12.
She made good progress towards finding the outliers of the data set. She was able to find quartiles 1, 2 and 3.

We need to establish a consistent structure for working out questions. First the question should be analysed and then do a step by step approach. Formula's should be written before numbers are substituted in, to make calculations. This will help reduce mistakes but also help in exams. Also arithmetic errors need to be reduced but this will happen with time. Finally, she should not get into the habit of memorising formulas. She should make study notes and have them next to her when solving questions. With enough practice, she won't need them anymore. There is a lot of work do be done, but as long as she is motivated to learn she should only improve.
