What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I used to get tutored when I was in high school and it benefited me, so I would like to return the favour and be a tutor myself and help other students. I would also like to build a professional tutoring resume.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am academically gifted, I graduated with an ARAR of 96.4 last year, taking the subjects Chemistry, Methods, Biology, Human Biology, and English. Thus, I know the right strategies to achieve outstanding scores. I specifically got high 70s (almost 80%) for my Biology and Chemistry WACE exam, while getting an 80% for Methods and Human Biology.
At year 11, I volunteered to a school program to tutor maths to a class of year 7s after school with a teacher alongside to help. This included going over content they already went through by doing revision questions.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor must listen to their students and understand that each child is unique and has different learning rates. The tutor must be patient with the child and create strategies for efficient learning. Building relationships with the child is key to tutoring, The tutor shouldn't be a stranger to them; they should feel comfortable being taught by you so they can gain confidence.
