What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The most enjoyable aspect for me in tutoring is the one on one connections I can make with students. The process of teaching in effective ways is extremely rewarding, since it can make a great difference in increasing their self confidence and academic performance. Being a part of students journey, and addressing their individual concerns develops a sense of trust and connection, which makes tutoring extremely meaningful to me.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths lie in being a great communicator, as I have practiced this through leadership roles in high school. Being able to deliver ideas to other students has been a duty I've always been trusted with my my teachers, and representing student voice as a Student Representative Council leader has given me first hand experience in addressing and resolving student concerns. I also believe that I have developed strong problem solving skills in the process, as well as organisation and clarity when presenting information.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Using a wide range of techniques to explain concepts, such as with examples, diagrams, real life applications and sometimes even a simple step by step approach can make a huge difference towards solidifying a student's understanding of a subject. As content can be accessed by textbooks and videos, it is crucial for a tutor to go a step further and apply a strategy that doesn't only break down concepts into simple ideas but is also a fun perspective to learn from. Moreover, providing additional questions, both exam style and open ended can be a good challenge and strengthen students learning.
