What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy the value that I can add to students, offer them a different perspective and drawing from my vast experience by varying explanations to ensure a student canβt understand the concepts. It is even more rewarding if the students achieve their desired score.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I am able to understand that each student have different level of responsibility understanding therefore can use examples from what the student enjoys to explain and improve understanding. I also am good at giving real world examples where to apply the concepts. I can teach different age groups. I can challenge student as I see fit and ensure that the challenges do not discourage them. I am good at improving student engagements in the subjects that I teach.
Most important things I can do for a student π
A tutor should not spoon feed a student but instead engage them, ask questions to ensure that you check understanding and not also ask the student to explain to you so that you are confident that they understanding. A tutor should also alter examples to check for understanding so that you ensure the student is not following a pattern but actually understand how to solve a problem. The main focus of a tutor is not how much work they give but what has the student understood after each lesson. Education after all is about retaining information rather than cramming.
