What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

As somebody who has various achievements in highschool, particularly in maths, I feel that it's somewhat a responsibility to spread that knowledge to others. I've always loved the thrill that comes when I'm teaching someone, and it suddenly "clicks" for them; it's one of the best feelings in the world. Looking back, I realized that I'm very fortunate to have had great -- no, excellent is a better word -- tutors/mentors along the way, and I believe that with my English skills coupled with my maths background, I'm able to pay it forward to others, especially to those who needs/deserves it.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

In terms of the technical skills, I have a proven record of outstanding achievements in Mathematics in highschool. I'm confident in algebra and calculus, although I do have gaps in geometry. Not only that, but my written and spoken English is also good. More importantly, in terms of soft skills, I have a lot of "informal" tutoring experience, which taught me the soft skills that are required for tutoring such as patience, listening, speaking in plain words, and trying to understand why somebody doesn't understand something.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

One of the most important things is definitely making a student excited about the subject itself and actually understand the significance of it other than just passing a test. Throughout my "informal" tutoring experience, I would always try my best to make somebody understand something rather than just memorize it by means of raising analogies, raising examples, breaking down complex concepts into simple ones to the best of my abilities, and listening to students intently to identify the gaps in their understanding so I can help fill it up.
