What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
It kind of fulfills the purpose of my soul and gives more meaning to my existence as I am able to help my students excel in their respective study areas. That satisfaction which is obtained when a student performs well with the help of my guidance is inexplicable yet wonderful.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My patience is my biggest virtue as a tutor. Apart from that, I believe that learning is a lifelong process and it is completely okay to make mistakes. The important part is to learn from those mistakes. I have strong subject knowledge of maths and sceince owing to my school and undergraduate backgrounds. I am a person of values and I would like to inculcate good life values in my students so that they can become good human beings as well.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor can explain the main concept, however, the related questions must be solved by the student itself as it promotes the concept of self-learning. As a tutor, I can sometimes unkowingly become their biggest cheerleader and that could really help them overcome any emotional stress that could become a hindrance in their studies. Therefore, a tutor needs to be both sensitive and friendly to their students in order to be able to address their needs in the best possible ways.

I feel that if Raiyan focuses well, we can go through this topic quickly. However, since the idea of equivalent fractions is a bit tricky, Raiyan is trying to wrap his around the concept and is doing well. We also played a few quizzes on fractions, odd even numbers and basic operations to bring his attention back which he enjoyed a lot.
Raiyan gets distracted easily but soon gets back on track for the studies. I think just a little bit effort from his side would make the lessons even more fruitful. Overall, he is obedient, respectful and most of the times follows my instructions.

Today, Evie learned about placing numbers in the respective place values of ones and tens. Apart from that, we learned another passage of the place value song which helped Evie in filling the numbers in the place value houses.
Evie has started recognising groups of tens and is getting used to writing the place value systems with ones to the right and tens to the left. She clearly understands the difference between one and two digit numbers which has helped her in understanding the place value houses game. Infact, she is doing great and I hope she continues to do well with the same enthusiasm.

Today we discussed unit fractions and made him recognise unit fractions. Also, today we understood how to name some of the unit fractions like one half, one thirds, one fourth and one fifths and would develop on these in subsequent lessons.
Raiyan has remained quite enthusiastic and I am very happy on the progress he is making and the focus with which he tries to understand in each of the sessions.

Evie grasped well the concept of one and two digit numbers while filling the houses of tens and ones. The fact that ones can be counted as blocks of ones & tens as blocks of tens was taken really well by Evie.
It was great to know that Evie was excited about her lesson. I hope she enjoys all my future lessons and stays excited about them as well.
