What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I see tutoring as an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the average student's learning journey. I want to be able to explain difficult concepts in ways that can "click" for a particular student and see that "aha!" moment. In an attempt to help students gain confidence in their subjects and It feels fulfilling to see them develop their problem solving and critical thinking skills, and also to constantly learn and grow both as a communicator and person.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

One of my key strengths as a tutor is my ability to break down complex ideas into simple, relatable explanations, sometimes with the help of whiteboards and graphics. I'm very patient and empathetic, which helps me create a comfortable environment for students to ask questions without fear of judgement. I can also easily adapt my teaching style depending on the student, whether it be visual learning, analogies, step-by-step walkthroughs or practice problems. My background in both academic subjects and mentoring, gives me a well rounded approach to tutoring.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Well, one is to build the student's confidence! I want them to be able to think independently and instil in their minds to avoid the use of AI tools like ChatGPT. I want to create a comfortable space where they can make mistakes and learn from them! A good tutor does not just give the answers, and I'd guide them to find the answers themselves. 1:1 guidance, demonstrations and encouragement is what can go a long way in helping students grow.
