What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The unexpectedness. For every session, the student will bring out a brand new set of questions. I enjoy the challenge of tackling questions that I have never seen before, especially when I am required to explain the hardest question in the simplest way.
I also love the unexpectedness of my students. They will often broaden my vision by presenting an approach that I never thought of. It's a very interesting experience trying to convince them or convincing myself.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I'm very versatlie.
I'm versatile to different topics of maths. Not only I have well studied traditional high shcool maths topics like functions and calculus; I have also had a chance to develop an understanding of statistical modeling and data analysis of high school level. I also have experience in developing maths projects, an essential skill for any IB students.
I'm versatile to the ever-changing expectation and fast pace of private tutoring. If there's a question that they cannot understand from class, or if they have a upcoming test tomorrow, I'm quick to come up with plans and solution
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Responding to students need, both academic and personal.
The tutor needs to assist the student in achieving their academic goals, whether it is to develop a passion for maths, or to prepare for an approaching exam, or to explore deeper into the contents outside of syllabus.
By personal need, I mean that the tutor should adjust the style of teaching and supporting to provide the best learning experience for the student. Some prefer a fast-paced learning environment when they can push their best with challenges, while others may prefer some space to step back and synthesis.
