What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing that moment when a student finally gets a concept that once felt impossible. It's incredibly rewarding to help someone move from confusion to confidence, especially in maths, where a small breakthrough can completely change a studentβs attitude toward the subject.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
One of my biggest strengths as a tutor is my ability to explain complex concepts in simple, relatable terms. I always aim to meet students where they are, and Iβm patient when they need extra time or different approaches
Most important things I can do for a student π
I think the most important things a tutor can do for a student are to build their confidence, promote genuine understanding, and foster independence. Confidence is key, as many students struggle not because they lack ability, but because they doubt themselves. A good tutor helps shift that mindset. Just as important is making sure the student truly understands the material, not just memorises it.

Student picked up recall strategies easy, and was able to recall concepts under pressure from the tutor. They were also able to recognise and rectify their own mathematical mistakes when completing practice questions.
Student needs to put in a touch more practice to avoid making small algebraic mistakes, as this is the only barrier to their mark in this subject at this point.
Demonstrated exceptional skill with index laws and basic surds concepts, recalling the general algebraic process for simplification and problems involving both.

Jumping to a conclusion without thought or working - often leads to mistakes. Rational indices - denominator is the root, numerator is the power.

Addressed skill gaps from the previous week and comppleted exceptional work outside of class. Great work with algebra again, demonstrated clear understanding of the concepts once demonstrated. Exceptionally competent with quadratics, particularly in factorizing using the AC method.
Recall of the null factor law - understood, but needs repetition to enhance understanding. Multiplication and simplification of surds - find greatest square factor to simplify.
