What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
From my experiences of tutoring briefly with my peers, one experience with a co-worker’s daughter, and another at a volunteering tutoring institution, at the secondary school of languages, for half a month. I can say, the most enjoyable parts, is the rewarding process of seeing my students, progressing better, and understanding concepts better. Though I didn’t tutor for the longest time, due to needing to work for money in my current job in retail. I was able to progress my students quickly, with effective teaching methods as well as, sitting with students who needed more help.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As a person who grew up, not being able to perform at the best of my abilities academically. I understand the struggles of students in learning, and know the strategies in overcoming them. These strategies turn my weaknesses in mathematics in primary school to getting straight A’s in year 8, and acing every maths subject in high school, where I was then offered a specialist academic program, where I was able to skip a year. So with that being said, I understand and empathize with students who are struggling, because I have been there as well.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Giving motivation to students. Students who usually don’t perform well in mathematics, see concepts as a daunting thing, and in doing so are scared to fully try to understand or put effort, possibly due to them having a traumatic history from it or feel incapable of doing it. The most important thing as a tutor, is to change the perspective of struggling students about mathematics, and make them know that they can do it, if they put the work in.
