What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy the most about tutoring the feeling of contributing meaningfully to a student's progress, whether that's academically or just in general with their self-confidence and self-belief. It's very rewarding seeing students struggle with a concept and then slowly gaining clarity and confidence on it.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I would say my strength as a tutor is my adaptability and flexibility. While I always prepare for lessons in advance, I understand that every student learns differently and may have unique needs during a session. I'm always ready to change my approach, whether that means revisiting prerequisite material to strengthen the student's foundation or adjusting the pace and style of explanation to match their level of engagement. Particularly in a subject like Math, where each new concept builds on prior understanding, I believe it's crucial that foundational knowledge is solid before moving forward.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important thing I can do for a student is to build their confidence and foster a genuine sense of self-belief in their ability to learn the topic. When students trust their ability and gain a bit of confidence, that's only when they can properly engage with the topics, take challenges and persist through them. I think it's absolutely crucial to spark an interest and engagement in a subject like Math. If the taught content is approachable this can shift a student's mindset from simply trying to "get through" the material to actually wanting to understand and master.

About Ehab
About Me
Hi, I’m Ehab! I’m a final-year Computer Science and Mathematics student at UNSW, and I’ve been privately tutoring high school students across a range of levels: from Year 7 up to HSC Extension 2. I love making maths feel less intimidating and more understandable for students of all abilities. My goal is to help students feel confident in themselves, not just in their answers.
My Teaching Style
I tailor each session to the student’s needs and learning pace. If I notice they’re struggling with earlier concepts, I’ll go back and strengthen the foundation before moving forward. I’m flexible with how I explain ideas, and I’m always willing to try different approaches to make sure the student feels comfortable and supported. I encourage questions, focus on understanding, and aim to build long-term confidence.
Why I Tutor
I tutor because I genuinely enjoy helping students grow. It’s rewarding to see their progress over time, especially when they start to enjoy a subject they used to find difficult. I believe every student is capable of improvement with the right support, and I aim to be someone who helps bring out that potential.
