What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Although I have not previously tutor, I have taught children how to swim and on teaching placement. It is the moment when the student gets the concept, where they receive clarity with something confusing. It is a highly rewarding process that always put a smile on my face.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am highly patient and try to break concepts down into simpler terms and action steps. I’ll never get frustrated or tired of explaining something again, I will also look for different possibility for understanding. I always aim to build confidence and provide praise when things get challenging.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

There are many important things that can be listed but my top things would be building confidence and promoting independence and understanding. A tutor should create a safe, supportive space where mistakes are okay and effort is celebrated.

About Jessie

Building Confidence Through Clear Communication

Jessie excels at making complex concepts accessible for young learners, drawing on her experience teaching essential skills to children as young as one. Her approach involves breaking down tasks into manageable steps—much like she does when introducing fundamental techniques in an aquatic setting. This ensures that students not only understand what they''re learning but also feel empowered and confident throughout the process.

Adapting to Individual Needs with Care

With hands-on experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, and those from foster care backgrounds, this tutor brings a nuanced understanding of behavioural management and inclusivity. Jessie creates safe, caring environments where trust can flourish, helping even the most hesitant learners engage fully. Her patient, empathetic manner ensures every child feels secure and understood during their lessons.

Foundation in Education and Child Development

Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Primary Education, Jessie combines academic knowledge with practical expertise in child-focused teaching strategies. She is adept at maintaining focus and awareness in dynamic settings—a skill honed through constant supervision required in swim instruction. Parents can expect sessions that are attentive to both educational progress and each student’s well-being.
