What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing that 'lightbulb moment' when a student finally understands something they were struggling with. It's so rewarding to watch their confidence grow over time and to know i've played a part in that. I also love building a connection with each student and figuring out how they learn best every session feels like a new opportunity to make a difference in someone's journey.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
One of my biggest strengths as a tutor is my ability to explain concepts in a really simple, relatable way. I'm patient and always make sure the student feels comfortable asking questions, even if they don't get something the first few times. I also adapt my teaching style based on what works best for each student, whether that's visual aids, step-by-step breakdowns, or real-life examples. On top of that, I'm encouraging and supportive, so students leave our sessions feeling more confident and motivated.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I think the most important things a tutor can do are to build the student's confidence, create a safe space for learning, and help them develop the tools to become independent learners. It's not just about teaching content, it's about helping them believe in their abilities, overcome self-doubt, and find strategies that actually work for them. A great tutor doesn't just give answers they guide, support, and mentor the student so they can succeed on their own too.

- Conditional Probability requires further practice, particularly applying methods independently in test-style questions - Homework completion has been inconsistent, which is affecting progress and confidence - Greater focus and commitment to completing assigned practice is needed to consolidate learning and improve performance

Although it took some time to build confidence with the concepts, the student showed steady improvement and was able to understand the rule by the end of the lesson. Their willingness to work through multiple examples helped solidify their understanding.
To maintain and strengthen this understanding, itβs important that the student completes the assigned homework. Continued practice is essential for mastering conditional probability and applying the rules accurately in future lessons.

She handled the Networks questions with confidence, especially considering it was her first time attempting full HSC-style problems. She showed strong logical reasoning and was able to apply the concepts effectively.
Conditional Probability is still a new concept for her, so she would benefit from more targeted practice particularly with interpreting questions, identifying events, and setting up probability statements correctly.
