What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy the most about tutoring is when I have a student who starts out knowing absolutely nothing about the topic, and maybe is struggling to learn said topic, which then forces me into a position where I have to problem-solve and find unconventional strategies to try and explain the content in the way the individual student would understand. My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I accelerated through high school and was able to start my mechanical engineering degree in university at 16 years old. To achieve this feat, I did a lot of self learning where I employed various different learning techniques to understand concepts that were years ahead of me academically. When I then started tutoring I was able to pick and choose from those strategies and apply different strategies for different students according to what would work best for them.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is create a safe learning environment where the student is confident and encouraged to ask questions and be more engaged in the learning. From there the tutor must observe how the individual student learns and should utilise personalised learning strategies that will allow for the student to study effectively.
